Just watched a nostalga video of all the D1 Crucible maps and realised how much better they were. Bigger better more varied tactics needed, please bring them all back.
If space is an issue why not bring out PvP expansion which can sit alongside general Destiny, I thought that this would be appealing to Bungie as it would provide a way to monetise existing content.
I've been saying for a long time I think they should separate the crucible from PvE the same way CoD separates multiplayer/campaign/zombies. Boot up Destiny and you get a menu, Crucible or Destiny. Would make updating/balancing and maintaining the crucible separately from Destiny easier while also allowing devs to use assets from the base game in the crucible. You could also then make DLC's specifically for the crucible, and even let the customer choose if they want to download specifically crucible stuff using more HDD space, or save the space if they're only PvE players.
Trials and comp would use only D2 base game and free maps so everyone can access them. Ideally all map packs would be free to avoid splitting the player base but this is also Bungie and they're selling Ghally, a gun that has now been reissued 3 times. This way Bungie can make money off map packs, the devs have an easier time balancing and making sandbox changes that don't require testing through PvE as well, and this makes the game smaller with the player being able to choose if they want to sacrifice HDD space. With games like CoD and Battlefield being over 100GB each, the excuse that Destiny is too big is just silly.
For sure. Even Anomoly in D1 didn't feel as crazy as it does in D2 simply because of the differences in movement and abilities. Hell just being on PC made the maps feel completely different because it didn't take a year and a half to turn around. For size to actually change the way people play the crucible we would need maps like First Light which Bungie won't do because they won't add vehicles back into the crucible.
Maybe in the next saga they'll try that stuff again? but I can't see that happening anytime soon, especially since it's taken them 5 years just to reintroduce rift.
