So if I remember right wasnt sbmm taken out due to having slower match making because player pool was to small? If so with it being cross platform now why can't it be brought back. It's hard to get better when you enter match to get stomped into the ground. There has to be some middle ground they can figure out.

1 返信We don't need SBMM to come back. At this point if people really want SBMM in there FPS cod is right down the street with all the BS SBMM you need.

22 通の返信SBMM was taken out around a year ago. Supposedly it was killing the population... Getting annihilated in matches will make a player quit faster than playing close competitive matches.

3 通の返信Look, if they took the last tiny tiny step and balanced the lobbies after they picked them this would be like 75% better. Sure there would be some blow outs but -blam!-, there would be a lot less blow outs.

Just look at the reactions to the flawless pool in Trials! That’s why it won’t be brought back. The top 1% of crucible players throw legit temper tantrums when they have to play people who play like them. They don’t want the close matches and the intense matches; They want to absolutely -blam!- kick teams into the ground.
So if I remember right wasnt sbmm taken out due to having slower match making because player pool was to small?
Yes. Bungie tried to spin it by saying the the wider variety of experiences in matches was "better" for the game and the player base. That was after saying that they "broke" SBMM by accident...and just never got around to FIXING it. The truth is that Bungie needed Google and Stadia's infrastructure to work on the game from home during the Pandemic....and with a daily player engagement of only 2000 players (that right....not a typo) Stadia's playerbase was too small to support anything else.
If so with it being cross platform now why can't it be brought back.
It can. Which is why you see so many who are invested in CBMM and in being allowed to bully weaker players are getting upset. Its also why a version of SBMM was added to Trials of Osiris just 2 weeks after Crossplay went live. Its also why---after 2 years of saying how wonderful CBMM was at every tur----Bungie has suddenly got very QUIET about it....and why CMs like DMG are not willing to rule out its coming back. Historically, when something has NO chance of happening, Bungie is very quick to get out there and put a stop to any talk about it. So they don't create any false expectations. The fact that they were NOT willing to quash any talk about SBMM coming to 6v6 means that they ARE talking about it....and there is a significant chance that it may comeback. Now that they've solved the problems that drove them to CBMM

14 通の返信You know we can see your recent games and all your stats, right? You aren't getting stomped into the ground. Why do you weirdos come to the forum and lie? I can't for the life of me understand. It's always some kid who wants SBMM making all these false claims. Why????

2 通の返信Didn't the forums have a meltdown about a year ago about how broken SBMM was and that CBMM was the obvious choice?

SBMM with looser brackets than before would be ideal IMO. The key for me is to keep some skill variety within lobbies but try to prevent people from being hopelessly outclassed. Nobody wants to sweat balls 24/7 but equally nobody wants to be dumpstered 90% of the time.

I agree that there needs to be some level of SBMM, but not at the expense of connection quality and queue times. I was also hoping that Cross Play would help out, but maybe they just haven’t tried yet? IF there is never going to be any form of SBMM taken into consideration then I think they need to implement some form of "skill-advantage", or rather "unskill-advantage". Basically use the power level advantage mechanic but apply it based on skill (ELO? Combat Rating?) instead of power level. Obviously lower skill gets the advantage. This wouldn't turn lower skilled players into PvP gods, but hopefully they could stay alive long enough to "get good" as the cool kids say. Obviously the advantage curve would be dynamically calculated based on your current opponents. Sometimes you may get a big advantage, other times not.

25 通の返信Ignore the kids blaming the sweatlords. Its almost like they forgot about the hundreds of posts made about SBMM having slow load times and should be swapped to CBMM. They just dont want to admit it was really that, that caused the change

2 通の返信
why can't it be brought back
Because the outcry from the sweats would be -blam!-. Seriously, you've not seen drama till you've seen a sweatlord trying to justify why they should get to stomp other players instead of playing a similar skill bracket. Add in end game rewards and it's a recipe for even more drama. Quite funny really.

change is easy.....Change is hard. If everyone that is fed up with the game walked away it would change. Simple and quick. That also makes it hard. People lack the resolve to get the change. Nothing typed here will make any difference at all.
