Agreed.
The level of disingenuousness—-especially coming from streamers and content creators—-is shameful.
They aren’t worried about not being able to play with their friends. They are afraid of looking less dominant, and it messing with their livelihoods.
Just like most people complaining about SBMM aren’t really worried about bad connections, playing with their friends, or long MM times. They simply want to dominate weaker players, because that is their idea of fun.
But this is about Bungie at the end of the day. This game can’t be both inclusive and exclusionary at the same time.
The sweat lords and the steamers want an exclusionary Trials…. but not the problems that come with it (cheating, recoveries, skill creep, etc….).
But refuse to accept that removing that exclusion and their gatekeeping is the only thing that will keep the playlist healthy and sustainable.

TheArtistにより編集済み: 9/25/2021 2:28:36 PMRight idea, but it’s not really an identity crisis. Trials has ALWAYS been a predatory game mode that has tried to pass itself off as competitive. IOW, it’s design has always been one of letting strong players avoid each other while kicking the crap out of weaker players for fun, prizes, and community status, But the playlist kept dying because the SHEEP eventually wise up, and stop showing up for the slaughter. Especially now when there is so much to do in pve…and there are lots of other games that give you a better pvp experience. The with skill creep in motion, the cheating, carries, recoveries, etc…start because the Trials format doesn’t work when the matches are actually competitive for the entire 7 matches. If the were, only 1 card in every 128 would go flawless. Bungie is trying to make the play list more competitive and less predatory, so that it stops self-destructing. But the format of Trials itself is a major obstacle. IOW. Once the sheep leave, all you have left are the wolves. Who either starve, or start preying upon each other….

You do have a great point there but bungie is trying to sell it as we are in this together nonsense when it’s actually working as intended stomp, stomp and more stomping. I believe they are going to exhaust every piece of ideas they have with trials eventually getting rid of the whole flawless system.

Bungie is kind of like what Winston Churchill once said about Americans: You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing, but only after they tried every other option first.” Bungie will try every possible way to Resuscitate Trials before finally accepting that the format itself is the problem. The loot system changes are good. But the mm and format changes didn’t go nearly far enough.

The loot system is really good kudos to them, as far as MM goes it’s never going to be where it needs to be especially after the amount of tears that came through the forums and Reddit. Trials elitist are like vegans eating plant based ribs like wtf mofo, if you miss ribs so much go eat a real one

TheArtistにより編集済み: 9/25/2021 5:07:00 PMI don’t, but then I’m annoyingly (for some) immune to nostalgia. Diablo 2:Resurrected (Remastered, basically) dropped on Thursday. Paul Tassi wrote a piece on how it “didnt age well.” The truth is that the game (which basically only had its graphics and online play updated) is just showing how much gaming has evolved over 20 years. That hame was amazing for its time… but gaming has continued to evolve and has passed it by. Point: I LOVE where games are right now. What is annoying and sad is all the other stuff that has gotten caught up and has created agenda that have no tuning to do with having fun. The social aspects… which have given fuel to a lot other toxic phenomena…have been a disappointing development. But it’s a small price to pay for all the other, good things that have come along with it.
