  • The match making sucks. I’m not the greatest in pvp but I’m not the worst either, but I keep getting match with team mates even play or or completely suck. I just wish they would fix that.

  • Agree. Adding the zone takes away so much of the competitive aspect that Trials is supposed to have. Now it is almost impossible to clutch a 1v3 or 1v2 since 30sec into a round a player can just stay in the stupid zone and win the whole match

  • Trials is not garbage, it's just not where it needs to be if the goal is having a diverse player pool participating on a consistent basis. Bungie needs to decided what they want trials to be. It looks like they want a competitive game mode that everyone can participate in and are throwing a lot against the wall seeing what might stick and what's not in an attempt to make it work. What they are failing to address so far, which is the real issue is very simple matchmaking. Instead they are doing everything they can to avoid addressing it. If they had a simple matchmaking system in place to have the majority of teams facing other teams and solo facing solo regardless of flawless status and only mix the two when necessary you would have a lot fewer 0-5 games. If this system was in place you would of course have some outlier matches based on players available and top 1% solo players in some matches but overall is really what's needed if they want to avoid a full time freelance mode. With the current volume of players that have been in the player pool this past couple weeks this system could easily work. As a solo player I face teams around 50-60% in trials. When I look back at these matches the teams usually have a 80-100% chance of winning based just on rank. Trials is a lot about skill but also a lot about communication and coordination, especially during a week like this with objectives. A team that is not communicating is at a huge disadvantage, then you combine that with teams on average having higher skilled players vs the average random solo's and you have a recipe for a lot of blowouts. If Bungie really wants solo players to be engaged in trials they need to have them facing stacks around 20-30% of their matches. This would drastically reduce the number of 0-5 matches. I think solo players need to feel like they have at least a chance of winning in the matches they play if Bungie wants to keep them engaged long term after the shiny new loot sugar rush is over.

        • every other match I'm losing 0-5 by a team that is granted passage to the lighthouse... absolute trash mode. first week was fantastic, now it's -blam!-

          • I'm a very average pvp player. Just went flawless for the first time ever. In the past I've only been in Trials a handful of times over the years and got wrecked. This time I tried it a few hours ago with a couple of friends, they are above average. We got two games where we were 5.0d ,we reset and got flawless. Is it watered down trials, yes, but I'll be back on next week probably. So Bungie have got it right if they get players like me to try it and come back. They have to do something.

          • 100% agree! This iteration of Trials is the most trash we've ever had and just allows nooby Titans to plant bubble on the zones and camp at the back of the map. Bungo stop adding crappy casual aspects and go back to the style of PvP that Halo had - you've fallen off the train so much it's sad.

            It's hilarious in a way, to knock the Sweats and Streamers down a peg or two. To watch them cry about getting a taste of their own medicine is top kek. I think in a way it's worth this -blam!- weekend, because we all know they -blam!- and whined until Bungie gave them what they wanted. Still feels good man

          • what u expect from them, they just want some bad rated pvp players play more osiris so the usual player get some flawless easy, they promised that today (38 mins ago) would add a new queue for flawless players... want to know a thing? this is the 4th match im playing against teams of 3! all of them flawless, i just got the 7th victory without flawless. They should add since day 1 freelance osiris like they did on iron banner, can't beleave they couldn't do it until this november and im SURE they will delay it saying some kind of excuse.

            Ground out some gear, got some good stuff. Only reason I’m doing it. Sorry Bungie have spoiled the “party” you were all having by temporarily adding a zone to cap as an alternate way to win.

          • It’s pretty obvious LABS would mean that Bungie is just seeing how it would be if trials had zones, that’s what LABS mean you test stuff out and experiment with things. Bungie has done this before with crucible labs elims

          • All anyone does is whine and -blam!-, just don’t play the damn game mode if you suck that bad. I played all day with my friends who are just as good as some of you guys crying in these forums and still can go 7-0 consistently.

            • I don’t mind it. Certain players are suffering hard because they never push up and you can sit on the flag and they will just stay back. Round is won then they all run out. Whoever type of player that is is suffering lol.

            • For me personally, I just don't like how if you win the round, you're now effectively being punished for doing so. The zone should always stay either smack in the middle in the same place, OR if you want to change it to force a different approach/flow to the game, have it be in the center of the map, but either on the left side, in the middle of the map, or the right side. For Wormhaven for example, this would look something like the following: First round: Zone spawns smack in middle where it currently does on first round. Second round: Zone spawns where B zone spawns in control, in that little red box on the inside near heavy wall. Third round, the zone spawns outside on that little like intersection type thing where from it, you can look unto the left or right side of the enemies bridge. (Left if you're looking into blue, right if you're looking into orange). Fourth round: Same as first round. Fifth Round: Same as second. There problem solved. The flag will always spawn in the center of the map, forcing people to push rather than camp.

            • Destiny 2 is primarily PvE and that’s been made pretty clear by Bungie due to the constantly broken gear that’s released every year. PvP in Destiny 2 is unbalanced and more often than not, people have to use special ammo to get kills because they don’t seem to know what a primary is. The issue with PvP isn’t entirely on Bungie, the community has become more and more toxic over the years because you have depressed Destiny fanatics who jump your sh*t if you dare talk bad about their broken load out. The community in my opinion is actually more at fault than Bungie specifically because of how toxic it has become. People want gear to stay broken and if you try and post on the Forums about it then half of them will just trash talk because that’s all they’re good for. (No, this doesn’t apply to 100% of the community). Destiny 2 was never meant to be PvP focused which is why it has such a lengthy storyline and extensive lore. I used to play PvP regularly but ever since Felwinter’s Lie was released, it just hasn’t been the same. You either get people who play on 20 sensitivity and only use shotguns or people who play on 3 sensitivity and use Lorentz, that’s just how it is now.

              • I'm fairly new to D2, and never played enough crucible in D1 to even learn the maps. Reading these replies is the reason I haven't even attempted pvp or anything of the sort yet. Not looking forward to just getting bug squashed but skilled teams over and over before I can even figure out what I'm doing, let alone the map layout itself, especially with so much to do to keep me busy playing solo already. What incentive as a beginner with random party matching, do I have to attempt this absurdity? From what I can tell... there's a problem here.

                  Lol.. back to getting pummeled by flawless crews. Guess the loud few has a better voice than the majority. Bungie has to let their streamers look good with 50 kills

                  • The group at Bungie is low level and not good at what they do. PVP should not be taken seriously because it is an unbalanced/unhealthy mode. The only way PVP gets fixed is if they bring in people that know what they are doing.

                    Hopefully Bungie takes these posts with a grain of salt. They probably just say. Ok that didn’t work. What is the feedback. I wish they would focus on the match making thing they are working on first and then try new modes. I feel like focusing on both just frustrates everyone. If they’re going to focus on labs now; they should of made it, it’s own thing with less gear and maybe a unique shader or emblem. Testing match making and new mode just seems to be too much for the community

                      And what, the state of crucible led you to believe there was any chance for Trials? 😆 come on dude be realistic. Destiny pvp is a joke, wrapped up in an ability -blam!- show, topped off with some appalling asss p2p net code. It's literally a parody of fps gaming
