Just ground out my last engram for the weekend, finished with a record of 29 wins and 156 losses lol
Now some people may look at that record and say what was the point, but and this is the important part for me.
I ended up with 13 messengers, 4 eye of sol, 2 igneous hammer, a shayuras wrath, a sword, all the armour and a triple tap/vorpal reeds regret and I still have 7 engrams to open.
Last month I got a cloak.
I congratulate all the teams I inadvertently helped to the lighthouse, and apologise to everyone who had me on their team. Except the losers that quit out after one or two rounds.
Overall did I enjoy my trials experience? Yes I did, I got a better understanding of how the pvp guys feel about the game and I got a load of loot I would never have got previously.
If the summoner is ever in the loot pool I may have another go.
Thanks Bungie

3 通の返信And now they're about to ruin Trials once again with 3 changes. Was fun while it lasted.

3 通の返信Good job. Solo here. I’m doing the same thing. Playing for what I want then it’s back to 6 vs 6 and iron banner for me.

1 返信This is the perfect example of how a solo player looks at trials after 1 weekend. "I got the thing I wanted. I shall never return unless new loot I want comes out." I hope this isn't the norm among solo players, but I'm betting it probably is. Glad you all had at least 1 good weekend.
-
3 通の返信Well done you. Am I inferring that you won't/don't need to play regularly - your perseverance means you have the loot you were after?
-
2 通の返信Your attitude is both refreshing and inspiring. Bravo. I also enjoyed the weekend with some Trials. Got a fair amount of loot for not having played too, too much. I like the changes they have made. Makes it a bit friendlier for casuals.

1 返信I absolutely love your perspective and effort you placed into this weekend. I personally used to get stomped in trials because I didn’t really go in with a plan but always tried to get better and I have been fortunate to go Flawless a number of times now.. I promise you I have been blocked 50 times more from the light house then I have gone there. Keep this momentum going, keep learning and working with your team! You will get there. I believe that!

4 通の返信I feel the same. At first I hated it, getting stomped by stacked team after stacked team that was using vex. But something switched over mentally, just embraced the point of being able to go in trials now and get some of the loot 🤣 even won a few matches, clutched a few matches. Was fun playing a role even in a solo fireteam. I'd make my teammates invisible at a choke point and they'd get the kills 🤣 I had fun and can't wait for this weekend

3 通の返信The day I step into trials the teams I come up against will be holding a ticker tape parade for me and building a statue in front of the lighthouse to celebrate the fact that it was my total ineptness with any weapon that got them there!. Even as I write this my prospective team mates are busily booking vacations or meticulously preparing a list of household chores so they can avoid watching me die over and over and over and over and over…well, you get the picture. Freelance trials, I’m coming for you!…

8 通の返信Spawn Of Apathyにより編集済み: 9/15/2021 2:01:31 PMYeah I managed to fill out two flawed cards. Plenty of losses on them. Looks like I only won 14 of 42 for the weekend. My second card was the one that gave additional rank points on the 3/5/7 wins, because that’s really all I was playing for; the rank points for the engrams. I kind of wish I could turn in a 2nd (and so on) flawed passage for an engram. It doesn’t have to be pinnacle, but that’s about it from a loot perspective. I’m not so greedy I need loot after every match or anything. Trials wasn’t awful and felt rather rewarding, even for me. Will do again next week.

1 返信I got no great guns but its nice to be able to focus the engrams. Next up for me will be an eye of sol with snap shot - the the messenger with outlaw or rapid hit/ desperado. The the lfr with triple tap/vorpal (I have one with harmony which is actually fyah).

1 返信Finally went Flawless, got 2 god roll Shayuras (1 adept), and 3 good Messengers. I was hoping for a Rapid Hit + Desperado, but got Encore + Desperado, Outlaw + Kill Clip, and I can't remember the other.

4 通の返信Serious question, i am curious how you feel about the idea of going 8-170 next time when all the solos have left .
-
2 通の返信The summoner should be in the loot pool if you take your engrams to the cryptarch. I didn't get any cool stuff as I already have a few decent EoS, IH and am almost god roll of the messenger (killing wind and desperado) but was hoping for a usable astral horizon instead

1 返信Good stuff mate that's exactly the way to look at it.ALOT of casual players hurt their own feelings but expecting a carry to flawless just because it has match making now and so they're angry, but it's good to see there are a good amount that understand the casual experience is about the loot until you've practiced enough to get flawless by skill. Goodluck next weekend hope ya get more good stuff :)

5 通の返信Rainにより編集済み: 9/15/2021 8:12:41 AMGood haul dude and good on you keeping at it. Did you go flawless? I'll be running a lot this coming weekend helping some of my clan get their first flawless title, if you want free assistance to the lighthouse feel free to add/message me I'm sure we can squeeze you in.

Myself with limited time over this weekend managed to get to 4 wins on my card but I did get a full warlock armour set and a couple of weapons, nothing to write home about on the rolls but it means I can target them later, once I hit 4 wins it was like I'd hit a wall, constantly up against v.good plays with multiple flawless runs, people were saying there was a way to manipulate matchmaking and because the Linear was a desirable drop it was better to farm rank then stay on a 7 win card for an adept Shayura, seems to be the case, I myself had come to the conclusion that once you had a decent adept Shayura there was no point farming that when rank was a much better and smarter option. In summary, rewards were way way better but the experience less so, a little bit of toxicity but no where near the level of old trials Will definately be back in next weekend, I'm old and slow and at ease with being curb stomped, please accept my apologies in advance of letting anyone down in solo queue. One more thing if the german guy I got matchmade with is reading this, I'm sorry I went afk but my dog barfed, so whilst I understand your frustration I will not take the option of killing myself, but if you're really invested you can dm me your number and I'll be sure to ring you when I give a f**k....... Pro tip, don't hold your breath waiting.

1 返信OurWildebeestにより編集済み: 9/15/2021 12:48:57 PMVery excited about what I'm reading. I wasn't quite ready this time around. I am a returning player after a 2-3 year "break". I got burned out in The Taken King era. Did tons of Oryx and even started to sherpa the raid for players who wanted to learn the mechanics. I tried the Splicer raid a few times but stalled in the final boss battle. Never tried Leviathan (I went in solo and goofed around a little but no serious attempt). With Trials, in the past, I was a mediocre to poor player but was able to get 3 wins and occasionally 5 wins via LFG. I am not a player who can usually help a team win, but I also don't usually cause a loss, so it really depends on my teammates and who we get matched against. Similar in Iron Banner, I do ok, but am not really a difference-making player one way or the other. I used to be able to grind IB very effectively. In the Crucible mode that blocks fireteams, I am usually above 1 K/D and get my share of knockouts, so I don't think my skills have degraded. Overall, I think I'll do OK in this version of ToS. However, my main is only 1275 LL (minimum is 1280) and hasn't completed the 50-kill requirement for ToS access. Maybe next time. I'm excited about it. Actually more excited than I am about raids, which used to be the focus of my gameplay. Good job (from what I'm reading), Bungie!

3 通の返信👍 I had a crack myself and although I hesitated and only had a couple of days before trials finished. I got a decent Summoner with desperado (and a couple of others). I got two snipers which I’ll never use, two igneous hammers (still trying to understand how anyone can hit something that isn’t completely stationary with it) and a Shyura’s which needs a bit of practice (very stable though in PvE). I got all the armour as well. I ground through two cleared cards, but in all honesty it didn’t seem like a grind. I can’t say it was fun getting stomped on so frequently but it wasn’t traumatic. I may even be very brave, steal my son’s headset and join the voice channel next time. I can imagine I’ll swear a lot, but I’ll try not to. I would only say one negative thing, people bailing out of my team (and it happened relatively frequently) need their nipples piercing with a red hot knitting needle. 😉
