It feels weird that year 2 exotic weapons like Malfeasance, Le Monarque, The Last Word and Jötunn still don't have catalysts.
Next week (September 6th) we're entering year 5 of Destiny 2. Yet, there are exotic weapons from year 2 of the game that still don't have catalysts and therefore still can't produce orbs.
I know Bungie wants to make fancy and unique catalysts, and I'm all for that. But when it takes several years to make such a catalyst, I rather just have the weapon get some nice stat increases. Just as long as it can produce orbs and get a kill tracker.
Here some ideas:
Malfeasance: +10 range, +10 stability, +10 handling, +10 reload speed
The Last Word: Increase magazine size with 4 bullets
Le Monarque: Increase accuracy and reduce draw time
Jötunn: Reduce charge time (and maybe something else on top of that?)
ANYTHING for these weapons to go and produce orbs and get kill trackers.
Maybe I'm forgetting some exotics weapons, forgive me, add them to the list as well. ;)

There are quite a few weapons that haven't had much love. It's pretty well-known here that Le Monarque is the only "old" weapon that doesn't even have an Ornament, alongside having no Catalyst. Sweet Business has a fairly poor Catalyst, actually got nerfed in the recent patch (auto-reload perk is less useful) and hasn't had an Ornament since February 2018, the first Crimson Days. Merciless was basically dead in the water until the buff. Its Catalyst is statistically great, but it hasn't had any Ornaments since July/August 2018, the first Solstice of Heroes, and both that it has are just glorified Shaders. As for Year 2 weapons that don't have Catalysts, others are One Thousand Voices, Two-Tailed Fox, Wavesplitter, Queenbreaker, Thunderlord, Anarchy, Arbalest, Tarrabah and Truth (listed here in order of release).

Most of the remaining exotics are already very good in their own niche. Bungie can't add anything too good to them or they'll be broken (remember Lord of Wolves...) If you gave last word 12 bullets, it would be a bullet hose and be absolutely broken in PVP. Le Monarque is fine. I just want them to add a fun PVE catalyst. I don't think it needs anything to make it better in PVP. I'd like to see it get something like a Graviton Lance effect. Or something as simple as rampage or archers tempo would be fine too. Malfeasance is already a laser, it doesn't need any stability. It's catalyst should do something cool like explode on the 4th shot instead of the 5th. Jotunn should get something like "ignited enemies take more damage" or maybe a sunshot effect where trash mobs explode around it. Reduced charge time would be too good in PVP.

I say give them catalyst that don't do anything but allow these weapons to make orbs. honestly, none of these weapons need a catalyst. maybe a range cat for malfeasance and thorn. maybe extra burn damage for jotunne? I mean, they are really good by themselves sans the ability to make orbs.

1 返信Anything that increases the use of that bow in pvp can go -blam!- itself. Most annoying weapon in the game lol. Does last word honestly need orb generation tho? It’s been unusably -blam!- in pve up until this season and the same with malf

Kind of boring catalyst ideas. I don’t know what I’d want for all those weapons, but I have an idea for two specifically. For Malfeasance, 4 consecutive crits allow the darts to explode one bullet sooner. The explosive damage can stun all three Champion types. For Jotunn, allow the weapon to overcharge, consuming additional ammo from the magazine, up to 5. Each over charge increases damage by 1.25x of base damage. Then either increase blast radius(Pve only) for each overcharge or give it chain reaction. Holding reload switches between classic and overcharge enabled fire modes.

I don't PvP 😉 Monte Carlo - increase chance of melee refresh Two Tailed Fox - adds arc chain damage OR Jus give them a "derpy cat" that makes orbs & nothing else 👍
