If you ask me, never put the two together, one is there to try their hardest at a game but end up taking it way too seriously and the other is there just cause they love the game.
Not saying try hards don’t love the game but putting them together is kind of a issue you set up a fireteam say for a raid or pve end game stuff, it can go two ways, either it’s all well and good and everyone is enjoying themselves or some of the players tell the others off cause they are not running the meta.
I’m never gonna say make the game and raids easier since well people will hate it. But I would say this, relax it’s just a game and have fun, no need to run the same stuff over and over again since then all the loot is basically pointless to get, i mean i played this game for over 1000 or barely over 2000 hours on it with multiple accounts and I would not run a meta just to keep myself fresh and loving the guns and stuff.
My message so just saying this.
Try Harders, relax
Casual, enjoy your stay

7 通の返信Apparently I am considered a tryhard because I engage in Masters and GM content. Once you play enough hard games, you find its not that much harder. I bring off meta weapons all the time while balancing work and a love life. Its very possible for weekend warriors to engage in Masters content. We all are casuals in a sense. What you consider as "tryhards" just have more skill.

17 通の返信This is a very discretely hidden attack on how some players enjoy the game, hidden behind a legitimate complaint regarding how "try hards" often treat "casuals". The post assumes all try hards are going to take the game too seriously, going so far as to berate others for not playing the game in an "optimal" manner, and don't enjoy it simply because of the fact it's just a game (While the post never explicitly states this, it is an implicit claim present in the opening sentence that splits the player base in two down an ideological line, leaving no room for a middle ground). This is an equally toxic mindset to the strawman "All try hards can't just relax" mindset presented; A rather rare opinion and attitude for most players considered "try hards" to actually have. Why is the post's mindset equally toxic? Because it also berates a group of players for engaging the game in the manner which they prefer; taking it seriously and enjoying challenges and optimizing speed, dps, win rate, etc. Since we're giving messages that no one asked for, my message; Try Harders, don't treat other players like shit --- but also don't take shit from people who don't understand why you enjoy games in the first place.

10 通の返信Green-7により編集済み: 8/23/2021 8:48:30 AMHi, casual here. It's true, but fortunately most what you call "try hards" post in LFG in the discord: "LF4M vog must know [insert whatever esoteric technique that enhances your dmg or takes a 10 min fight into 1 minute]" which is convenient because i know to avoid those since i generally dont know "the thing". It's a shame noone uses the guided feature for raids, but the sherpa channel in the d2 discord is more convenient anyways. sometimes i get mixed in with people that are super on edge about everyone putting out the maximum dmg their class can offer with the perfect spec, weapon, stats, etc... they're angry and loud so i just leave and find another group. there's plenty of groups with far more chill ppl in them. a majority dont really care. i'm what i'd call an okay player, i can definitely hold my own, but i don't try to master every esoteric technique for min/maxing... that sounds boring to me, but to each their own. surefire red flags in lfg for casuals: "dm raid report" "kwtd"

7 通の返信For pve meta, seriously, sometimes if you play with ppl that dont know the mechanics & dont got the meta weapons, its just impossible to finish the raid with the average time, you can try & try but you can get stuck in the same point without any soluction until the player who is not doing the good job leave. I played this game since D1, & you cant give a try to a person who dont watch the video on internet, dont want to do anything, just say: Oh, please dont let me do this because I dont know how to do it. That pass for example during the VoG Atheon, please dont make me shoot the oracles since I dont know how to do it (WTF???). If you enjoy 3 hours playing the raid, nice, good for you, many of us have got jobs, or exams or want to go out or whatever... Raid is meta, for meta, you need to have meta goals.

1 返信Both groups ruin each others fun, however it's only the casuals that are on the forum posting about how it's 'just a game man'. It's in fact, so unimportant that you logged into the forum to talk about it when you weren't even playing it. I think perhaps there is more to the average 'casual' than meets the eye.

3 通の返信Or.... Everyone could not overcompensate for dumb shit and log onto a forum at 3 am to be a dick. That's a fresh idea that no one's tried.

12 通の返信Honestly, I’d rather play with older players (35+). From my experience older gamers just want to shoot shit. They don’t care if you miss a call out in the raid or if you make a dumb decision in trials, to us OGz that’s funny. We laugh dust ourselves off and try again

3 通の返信Die a casual or live longer enough to see yourself become the try hard. That is all pvp games 😬

3 通の返信Good job you just fixed the game, I never knew that telling tryhards to relax would actually work!!!

8 通の返信I’m starting to think that most the posts like this have nothing to do with try hards. Usually it’s just low skilled players getting beat by average players lol.

1 返信Some people don’t want to spend 2 hours doing a raid that takes half an hour. Not saying that okays some of those assholes behaviour but when someone’s made the same mistake 9 times in a row and still isn’t getting it they’re being the asshole now especially when they join a KWTD post and haven’t got the slightest clue. I’ve been both a casual and a hardcore throughout this franchises time die to school and relationships and there’s merits to being both kinda of player. But being one doesn’t mean you can’t be the other. I’ve lfg’ do to a colossal amount of raid groups over the years where it’s a try hard bunch that wants to get shit done but by the end we’re all laughing and cracking jokes. Honestly why I love lfg. Meat a lot of people through it and with over 6 years of lfg experience under the belt I’ve matched with 2 assholes in like 200+ raids

8 通の返信I honestly think the two groups deserve each other because they create each other like Batman and the Joker.
