I started on PS4 during Forsaken and have decided to make a fresh start on PC, leaving my PS4 account intact for my daughter to use so that we can play together via crossplay when it goes live. Which means I have to play through the New Light experience. Shaw Han is an annoying character with unconvincing voice acting. Running halfway across the bloody Cosmodrome and back before getting access to a basic sparrow is not fun gameplay and if giving an impression about how 'large' the map is was the goal, it's a dishonest goal given that nothing happens - no adds spawn, no resource nodes or chests spawn and no public events take place - in about 40% of the map (or more) and we could still get that impression of size with a basic sparrow. Han could give us the thing as he sends us to investigate to begin with. I've played the Disgraced strike on PS4 without hearing Han put his inane two glimmer in a hundred times. I hate knowing that I will forever have to listen to him every time I get that strike in the playlist from now on. I don't know where he got his exotic Arm piece but I can't imagine it was from any source other than Xur because there's no way he ever killed anything more powerful than a Hive Acolyte. Veteran players starting on a new platform should have the ability to opt out of New Light. Or, even better, everyone should have the option of skipping it as long as they have at least one character on their account that has reached some easily triggered milestone, like unlocking travel destinations or something. I absolutely hate that I'm going to have to put up with this crap two more times when I create my Titan and Warlock on the new account. TL;DR - New Light sucks, let us skip it.
