Honestly, some kind of ranked system, that treats everyone at that rank the same, really is the only way to go in anything but the most casual playlists. It would have to treat the people at the same rank the same though, and people would still have to be able to digest not always seeing others of the same rank in their lobby.

iKARUSにより編集済み: 8/14/2021 2:58:04 PMOh yeah it should have a certain wing span until it'll either let u fly or drop from whoever you're match with based on simply by KD(A) The elo system in this game is just.... No... It's sooo convoluted and everything ends up saturating stats from one thing to the next rather than separate . At least that's how it feels anyway. I'm just saying I almost exclusively play elim comp and trials with a little of build conceptualizing in QP. And I feel this point system ingame hurts comp ladder climbing if you have background stats going to. It's either point system and no stat analytics (which woo don't wanna see that) Or drop the fabricated point system in game (brave-legend) *and use that as literally ranked system for loot* and go full force KD(A) matching. That way people who say "it doesn't matter about KD" will now have to get that KD to Everyone will say it's ez to psych out the matchmaking but.... People already do that anyway. Idk. I just think what they did was over complicate a system that already had too many problems to begin with

But there's no reason to go into who it is that's most fooled by it. Its not the casuals, that's for sure. The bad part is even I'm guilty of believing it and not being able to stop believing it sometimes.
And I feel this point system ingame hurts comp ladder climbing if you have background stats going to.
It really does seem to, but at the same time its totally understandable how it gets that way. The game has a lot of different kinds of players and a lot of them won't accept no for an answer.
Or drop the fabricated point system in game (brave-legend) *and use that as literally ranked system for loot* and go full force KD(A) matching.
I'd be fine with this. As long as the game didn't start hardcore dictating what you can and can't do during the match based off of KDA differences. There's really no matchmaking that can't be psyched out unless its designed from the start to make absolutely no sense. I think they could get pretty close to having something that actively discourages trying to game the system though. Its definitely very complicated. Every time I try to actually be objective I can totally understand why its worked the way it has. Still though, regardless of what peoples' individual opinions are, I think everyone would like something that felt new in terms of the ranking or rating system.

THEN THE 50% TILT ON OUR WIN RATES !? like that is what really just. Idk. I lt seems fair bit when the "algorithm" proves time and time again it's not doing its job. What we just talked about to agree or not... That ontop of everything ?
-
A_moにより編集済み: 8/14/2021 3:45:50 PMWell, not everyone gets the 50% thing. I'm not sure what they use but it seems like its some amalgamation of something to do with the win rate you get up until a certain point then the game kind of just puts that on auto pilot. No player knows how it works, but I know that for me individually a lot of the time it feels like something with the lifetime stats comes into play as well. It honestly feels like ("feels like" being the important words in this sentence) I basically get whatever win rate for that season then my lifetime win rate drags on that for most of the rest of the season. It feels basically the same with K/D up to a point. Who knows how it really works but I will say that at a certain points every season all my stats undergo drastic pahlummetingz that basically no one would be capable of stopping using skill.

A_moにより編集済み: 8/14/2021 6:13:45 PMYeah. But with this game, and this is not just when it comes to matchmaking, they say one thing and it gets repeated over and over until it gains meanings that it was never meant to have. We are playing a game where its become "common knowledge" that SBMM was switched off so streamers can make their videos and because streamers said turn it off. As long as you start off with lies what comes next is just worse than what you started with. Which is why I don't really even bother debating the people who think that's why it got turned off and why its bad to have SBMM being the defacto state of crucible in the first place.
-
I definitely know what you're saying. It's almost like streamers get "potato" lobbies every game. Players who never check their flank, never team shooting, campy. Or hackers. No in between from what I've noticed even on raw twitch footage. Yet I'm over here trying to towel up the sweat I deal with EVERY TRIALS AND COMP MATCH. Cuz it's where I'm at in the "brackets" And really the only other issue with what you're talking about is the pvp community is slowly dwindling again. And the match making pools smaller and smaller. But I'm on ps. So I only see a third of this issue. So the move in part was just trying to get players head to head without a long wait time. And I would only ever ask for cbmm because peer to peer is just obsolete... For various and detrimental reasons.
-
A_moにより編集済み: 8/14/2021 6:49:55 PMTrials is a little different because its only a little over a year old so the stats haven't cured quite as much as they have in other playlists and there are other things that make it so the elo and stuff you see is more accurate like having to make a team. As far as I'm concerned Survival is the Gambit of PvP. Who knows what you'll get. Could be the most awesome match of your life. Could be... not that. The CBMM on peer to peer (I try to avoid saying the p words) thing is exactly why it is the way it is. SBMM was simply too broken on that setup. Its one of those things where they could have just left it like that to appease people because those with high stats didn't actually have it that bad compared to some others, and I'm so very thankful they didn't. Anywho, I'm looking forward to the day when PvP can be about more than casuals vs. sweats. That actually sounds like the name of a movie from the 80s. Casuals vs. Sweats starring Corey Feldman.

Lmfao costarring Chevy chase ~~~ But I agree with everything here. Bungie really hurt themselves cheaping out on a FRANCHISE iP when it comes to "servers" Even when D1 hit us in the gut the first day of it's sneaky leak we heard it was peer to peer which at the time was already starting to become obsolete...
-
Ummmm... That was certainly a Youtube video with a lot in it to digest. Oh my god, content creators sometimes. Between the commercials and talking about how awesome and right they are you just gotta love em. I agree with some things he said and definitely disagree with some other things that he said in that video. The one funny thing I always notice with the Youtube and elsewhere is that the Bungie forums do not exist as part of the community, which I find quite hilarious. This has always been a game of repeated new beginnings so I think the best thing to do is just look at next season as another new beginning and kind of just let go of the past.

No no xD I am not ascendant nomad. I'm a whopping 23 subs on mine. But I have played with and against some of the best on iB and Comp and trials of the nine. (It's usually all of DFP lol true vanguard in comp <3) In trials of Osiris. I've only came across zkmushroom once. Bakagangsta once. And grenadier Jake once. I mightve ran into others but. Shrugs* those are the only ones oh wait. I ran into BADASS GAMING as he spells it in iB a month ago. He left within the minute mark cuz we mercied his fireteam.
-
I bet bakengangsta beat you realllllly bad... I've only ever played aztecross and true vanguard I think. I'm not sure if I've played the hulkster but I have come across people with the BADASS Gaming thing in their screen names. Whenever I come across Youtube videos it always sticks in my mind that admitted losers simply do not have enough representation in the content creation space. Sometimes I want to make a channel called the Mega Super Loser Womp Womp Channel for Losers because all the other content creators are always so cool.
-
You wouldn't subscribe to the Mega Super Loser Womp Womp Channel? I think it could gain traction. And I'm not talking about the gamer gate type losers. I'm talking about the real, ya know, cool losers. We could talk about how to do neckbeard hygiene and stuff.

It's pretty simple in design, I can poop out a video in an hour if it's just a mash of small clips. Clipping trimming overlays sampling for overtracks are pretty ez too. It's definitely a leap from what it was when it first came out
