I felt underwhelmed. It’s been since Taken King that we have hard lore about Quria and she just kind of dies in a easily safe boss fight. It felt anti-climatic for the scope and power of this taken vex and the control it had over the City, not to mention the Dreaming City. Not all stories have a fanfare of closure and white knuckle moments but this did feel like a Xol moment of “wish this was used in a more grandiose fashion.”

  • So what were you expecting? The boss had some mechanics like raids or strikes, the boss had a unique attack which is cool, this is a shooting game at the end of the day. What exactly do you guys expect out a game like this? I feel you guys have so much expectations for a game designed to simply shoot anything that moves. If you were expecting darks souls or some animations like you would in final fantasy or kingdom hearts then you are clearly playing the wrong game.

  • What do you expect? what do you expect? what do you expect? what do you expect? what were you expecting? For a powerful lore boss to not be another xol. Should have been in a dungeon

  • This was my personal feeling as well. Quria, lore wise, has been pivotal to the narrative. Lore wise it could simulate Oryx and thus Take. It lead an entire collective of Vex to worship the Darkness in the Black Garden. This is narratively a major character which seems to be narratively disrespected by the form it was included in the game. The thought that struck me at beating it was why are some of the insignificant (lore wise) bosses at the end of the Harbinger mission more difficult than Quria? They are narratively nameless but given an encounter vastly more difficult. The narrative to mechanical difficulty seems disconnected; that is my source for a “meh” reaction to the encounter.

  • For me, when a character has been as pivotal to a storyline for so many years it feels underserved to have the boss be relegated to a relative easy mission and a boss fight that can easily defeated by standing behind a pillar and using anti-barrier scout mods. He has the wall throwing attack which is neat but up move to the opposite side and position the map geometry between you and Quria. You shoot his arm with a scout and he dies never throwing any more walls. As I said before not every ending finishes with fanfare and white knuckle moments but the same with Xol the build up of these characters in the overall narrative to their execution in game is disconnected. Quria felt like a patrol boss like those that can be spawned in the Dreaming City via mechanics. It is what it is; if some people enjoyed it then that’s absolutely great and I am very happy for them. For me personally I felt it was “meh” and that’s just as valid of an experience.
