Idk why but that year 1 destiny hit different. I know the game wasn’t in a perfect spot but just not knowing anything about the world of the game and the rustic feeling and look to the gear we had was got me hooked. destiny 2 feels and looks like a cartoony or animated version of destiny 1 if that makes sense? It’s almost as if things are way too clean and shiny now especially with some armor ornaments that look like they don’t belong. That sense of wonder is kinda gone too. Just rewatching the introduction cutscene in the new light quest, i could tell it didnt belong in this game at all. Anyone else feel this way or understand what i mean?
Edit: never had any issues with destiny until destiny 2 launched. Since then the game has felt empty is kinda what I mean. That and the art style and armor design and even weapon design team have been slacking too which effects the feel of the game

9 通の返信Honestly, if you go back and play it it’s quite bad in comparison to D2. My clan went back and tried VoG and few months back and felt pretty bad to play

2 通の返信D1 was sold to us as an evolving game. We could grow with our characters on a 10 year journey. We were all on that journey together, it was fun and social Then they started nerfing stuff, vaulting our favorite weapons, removing our favorite perks. Then Bungie started catering to the streamers and stuff and ruined their own game

2 通の返信Infamous067により編集済み: 7/2/2021 2:35:45 AMD1 was better because it was simple and abilities were just melee and grenades. If hunters wanted dodge they had to sacrifice other perks or use an exotic to use dodge. Imagine how much better it would be if warlocks needed a perk or an exotic to use rift or titans barricade? Imagine having to sacrifice one extremely powerful perk over another? Thats what I loved about D1, less is sometimes more

9 通の返信LittleWitchAuzにより編集済み: 7/2/2021 8:57:27 AMDestiny 2 was a mistake. Period. When it was cheap, I got it and played Red War and absolutely loved the story but never got around to beating Osiris or the other one because of a lack of Transmog. They should have stuck with Destiny and just expanded/overhauled/updated it as time went on. It’s kind of sad that any other game (even EA published) wouldn’t pull half the crap Bungie does now regarding game direction, MTX, and expansions removing older content.

Year 1 Destiny 1 that almost died because the content was a big mhe before VoG released Or Year 1 d2 with 2 primary shotgun and sniper being heavy with a big mhe raid Because no I don't miss being slow and play some of it worst content....

I don't know what "old destiny feeling" amounts to or that there would be a consensus as to what that feeling is so not to be rude but I can't effectively answer the question. As for Destiny 1 it had tons of problems and I can say D2 had plenty of quality of life improvements. BUT D2 has so many other problems that I also don't want that. I don't want D1 or D2. I honestly think it's beyond time for D3 no matter what Bungie says. I understand they have their plan. I just disagree. D1 lasted three years and at the beginning of the third year there was already a tired feel too D1. D2 is going to come up on 4 years soon. For me, though i still like to keep abreast of changes, i don't find myself craving playing the game. Largely because i find the pve repetitive and as primarily a pvp player it's had it's issues but the maps are old and stale and many poorly designed to be narrow and cluttered, exacerbating the shotgun issues. I just don't long to fight the same enemy race, throwing balls and standing in rings in pve, for the same tedious level grind anymore. I'm not a big raider but i did raid D1 and i've done that. I'm not longing for past raids. I paid for them and did them already. I don't need old strikes. I did that. I get nostalgia and old guns and i can't knock bringing back an old loved exotic. But usually it's just not the same anyways. I need new planets that a new game would bring. More of the same is not peaking my interest. I'd love to see the game send us through a vex gate and we can't get back. Now old planets weapons or armor. All new stuff. New rules. new enemies. Set up a new colony of guardians. A new base. Maybe our base is our own ship. Now tower but we have a Guardian Dreadnought. Pvp wise i need the ton of new maps a new game would bring, new weapons, maybe some innovative modes. New mechanics. One of the reason why people like pvp is humans are illogical, panicky and unpredictable and so every pvp match unfolds differently. But even then doing it in the same place starts to get boring. Especially when they have removed maps as options. I'm probably not the average player. This is just my own opinion. It's fair that others will disagree with this. They are entitled to have that opinion and like whatever they llke. This is just my two cents.

3 通の返信Exeltixにより編集済み: 7/1/2021 12:25:42 AMWell get used to it without activision they already said they can never do an expansion as big as forsaken or ttk for that matter ever again. They made this game free to focus on the micro transactions (eververse) but hey everyone blamed activision without actually doing their research as to why destiny is the way it is and they popped that champagne like everything wasn’t their fault in the first place.

Accolaにより編集済み: 7/1/2021 12:15:29 AMHonestly, what armor in D1 was "rustic"? I seriously can't think of really any legendary set which looked worn down, they all looked pretty much the same as armor in D2 does. And of course the sense of wonder is gone, you've been playing this game for FOUR years! Wonder doesn't last forever.

5 通の返信The sense of wonder is gone because you all have been playing this game for the better part of the last decade. A lot of you were children when this game came out, and what you're doing now is observing things with a critical lense. I promise you that if Destiny came out now, it wouldn't make it past the gate. The only reason this game still has a fan base is because it sunk it's fangs into you when your brains were still sponges and you just soaked things up. Destiny was a bad game. A good shooter, but a bad game, that was only saved by a decent expansion, and that's all Destiny has ever been, a shooter that needs saving. I don't miss the Destiny feeling, because it never really left, a lot of you are just now realizing what millions of people realized 7 years ago. This is a deeply frustrating game that would be good if its developers could just get out of their own way and let thing evolve naturally.
Just rewatching the introduction cutscene in the new light quest, i could tell it didnt belong in this game at all.
Yeah... The mystery and the "civilization on the brink of extinction" feelings are gone. D2 feels more like eternal fun and celebration. The enemies are just some baddies we have to brush off of our shoulder and move on. And after that every npc applauds you for being the best ever.

3 通の返信Corrick IIにより編集済み: 6/30/2021 10:46:13 PMProblem is Destiny has “changed” but it hasn’t “evolved”. Bungie has focused so much on minutiae and maintaining the status quo that it hasn’t pushed the game into new territory in any significant way, which is why it all just feels so stale now. The destruction of the Tower was supposed to be major, but a year later everything was back to exactly the way it was. Losing Cayde, same thing. Who cares. Losing entire planets was the closest we’ve come to “change”, but it turned out to be an insignificant narrative footnote, again nothing changed. I don’t know if it’s intentional, or they’re afraid of losing players, or they just don’t care anymore but players will continue to have this feeling as long as the boat keeps sailing in this direction. Hopefully their promise of the best years being ahead comes true and they actually do something different soon.

I miss feeling like there was actual dread. We were in serious trouble at all times. Odds stacked against us. Now, it's just........superman swoops in and decimates whatever cheap secondary bad guy that happens to show up. The wonder is gone. The shine is lost. The repetitive formula is beyond old. Witch queen needs change the game....but it won't.

2 通の返信What I miss the most is the weekly reset. Back in D1 you had a lot of new things to do / look for every reset. That’s something we don’t have in D2, at least not on that degree.
