Exactly People love to paint them as the cowards who will leave at the first sight of danger, but it's not that at all, they care about humanity and have constantly given us support. If they really were just cowards they would have left during the Red War, but they stayed, and they're still here, only now making preparations to leave that the actual darkness that brought about the first collapse is on our doorstep.

Exactly! DO has an army and a fleet of ships that no one other than Jared (if I'm mistaken oin the name 🤷♂️) knows how many are in it. They are more than prepared to evacuate the entire city within a moments notice and have/will stick around to help fight off threats to stave off the call for evacuating. They're the best faction in regards of putting the people's safety and well-being first and even going as far to ensure humanity's survival by just having a plane B. FWC and NM don't, and that should tell you all that you need to know about their views over the city.

Ignoring the humanitarian argument id argue their opposition pre SoS we’re already pretty unreasonable. You have the self named cult that is obsessed with a war they refuse to disclose or simply can’t. And the group who claim they want a monarchy and for it to be finely cleanly. Even though they don’t seem to have any chosen candidate for the role and are naive enough to think that the consensus MAY one day go along with them. While I like the ideas of NM I think the DO have the correct mentality. The city was conquered once and given that entire planets are missing there’s no reason to think the city might not fall. Even if it’s only temporary or not very far trying to find a new safe haven for humanity likely would be a better plan.

Honestly Zavala doesn’t seem like a good candidate. He gave up more or less during the red war until we showed up. His continued hands off approach to problems has only led to everyone else ignoring the vanguard and doing their own thing (the drifter, us, etc) and his decision to take a side on the issue of stasis, a decision he made to PREVENT division, is to say it’s bad and we shouldn’t do it.
