Serious question.
How do you get better at jumping puzzles?
Yes I understand expunge isn't that hard of a puzzle but it's taken all of the fun out of my resent return to the game. I just can't do it. Death after death. I play for fun and stress relieve. Jumping puzzles are not fun and overly stressful.

7 通の返信I chose to give them a big miss. It's ruined the season as far as quest progression goes, but so be it. Platforming isn't fun at all especially when you need to beat the clock as well. Reminds me of Whisper and Zero Hour missions. You can do it at the cost of sanity and an insane amount tries. I finished Zero Hour and Whisper after about 30+ goes. I'll never do that again. You can do Expunge! I just chose not to is all.

What's your main? For me it's all about focusing how the jump functions and all it's little intricacies. For instance Expunge is pretty easy for Warlock because there is a lot of falling downward to a platform. Warlock jump is all about momentum and will halt yours if you're going downward. This makes it pretty easy to just hold forward and just click jump and calmly float to the next platform. Whatever jump you're using, try to make sure you have the directional jump on. The directional jump can help you correct your flight path much easier than the ones that propel you forward. Hope this helps.

Warlock is the easiest to use for inexperienced jumpers. - Strafe Glide most precise you have a lot of control on where you land by gliding in - Transversive Steps for very fast sprint - Top Tree Dawnblade use the Icarus Dash evade to thrust forward if you under jump Titans use Lion Ramparts or Dunemarchers and a sub-class with a shoulder Charge to thrust forward if you under-jump. Or Ballistic Missile sub-class use the Melee or Super to skip large sections of the jumping puzzles (if you can pull it off) Hunters use Stompees for much bigger jumps & faster movement All classes: equip a Sword for 3rd person view; equip a lightweight weapon for faster movement and jumps, or equip MIDA for faster everything There are a lot of options and practice makes perfect. It is do-able and gets easier each time you do it

The jumping puzzle isnt to bad but I agree not everyone is a fan but my issue isnt the jumping as much as the orbs you have to pick up. With nothing to prevent them from rolling off the platforms just to watch them get stuck and not respawn back to the floor is a big dissapointment because it forces you to return to orbit and redo it all over again and thats a pain if your soloing it

I agree, jumping puzzles in Destiny 2 are not fun. D2 is very, very bad as a platforming game. -
Its the fact they add things like taken phalanxes and ogres that cause tremendois knock back. Like honestly, if it was a zero-hour like mission sure, but this is something the entire player base is having to do for story advancement. They're really crutching on the top tier of players with the setup of the seasons expunge, casuals get -blam!-ed.
-
Practice jumping casually while on other content. When in patrol just jump from box to box or rock to rock whenever theres an opportunity. My dad was bad at hunter jump. BAD. But we spent some time just doing casual practices and he became quite good. Also, feel free to add me up if you're on xbox and we can run together

Use a sword so you can see in 3rd pov (helps with landing) Movement exotics/abilities are your best friends(hunter: stompees/shatterdive, warlock: transversive steps/icarus dash, titan: lion rampants/shoulder charge) Most importantly take your time. As a hunter main I recommend using triple jump on the hunter to help clear certain gaps if you need to

Step one; put on a movement exotic. Hunter; Stompees, Titan; Lion Rampants, Warlock; Transversive Steps + Top Tree Dawnblade. (that being said if you’re struggling with platforming I’d stay away from using Warlocks as the jump has a much higher skill gap for jump puzzles). Step two; put on a sword. Any sword is fine, but Lament if you want to use it for the final “boss” of the expunge missions.

4 通の返信As someone with all 3 classes skip warlock, their floofy jump killed me so, so many times compared to my Titan and even my Hunter who's triple jumps don't carry him as far as the 'lock. Seriously, skip warlock lol!

11 通の返信I get it I got frustrated last night . But in all honesty you really don’t need to do it . Rewards are the usual , not even sure if I’ll chase the key codes. Just seems like more grind for not very much .

2 通の返信In a game that consists of point and shoot over and over again. Adding the additional jump is nothing but welcome. If your having problems maybe grind out the power ups. Not sure if your being serious because calling this a puzzle is a stretch.

4 通の返信I’ll never understand why people complain because they don’t know how to control their characters jump. Expunge is one of the most straight forward jumping “puzzle” this game ever put out. I died more to the stupid gravity cannons killing me out of nowhere rather than falling off the map. Just jump around in patrol and get a feel for the basics of your character if you seriously can’t jump from one platform to another

2 通の返信1. Level up your Splicer Gauntlet to open up solid ‘hidden’ platforms. Watch any number of Utube vids for most efficient pathway😁 see Ebontis - his vids are on point. 2. Stay connected, ie, if on console, keep controller wired as this will help inputs be more effective…rather than by IR (wireless) inputs, to help avoid that mid-jump sinking feeling as your jump hits a flat spot or just simply runs out of steam. 🥴 3. If at first you don’t succeed… 👍 Chin up and grind on! Just my 2d worth. YMMV. Cheers! MDGA

13 通の返信I still don't get why Bungie has to add so much jumping in everything. The new ExpongeBob activity is just ridiculous.
