It's obvious to anyone who has ever fired a real firearm that the Bungie crew has never fired weapon.
Why doesn't Bungie hire a couple of ex-military folks to come in and take a big black marker to their weapon ranges to correct them?

2 通の返信Well most prior service members don’t say Ex-military, we say prior service. Ex sounds like we were kicked out or something. But since you know so much about weapon systems what fixes do you propose?

Any evidence or is this just a low key humble brag about a job you have or used to have? Edit: turns out it’s never had.

15 通の返信I have military experience but understand these are not standard weapons and as such it doesn't matter. I very high percentage of players are unlikely to have military experience, they wouldn't even know what the correct format for weapons is. Maybe we will have a warlock along in a moment who said that sounds are not correctly representative of the sounds that warlocks make when throwing a nova bomb. What you say might be true but is not worth saying.

1 返信Harrowed Chaosにより編集済み: 5/20/2021 3:05:52 AMYou want Bungie’s weapon ranges to be more accurate? What about shotguns then? Plenty of already people complain about 8-8.5m. I don’t want to account for wind, bullet drop, etc and have this game be Modern Warfare 2021: Space Magic. I just want to have fun and shoot stuff.

I would just like them to design guns that don't have obvious ridiculous errors, like revolvers that eject cartridges like an automatic pistol, or weapons that have an open gap in the grip or body between where the magazines are mounted, like the bullets are supposed to magically jump across the gap into the barrel to be fired. That sort of thing. But as for the ranges, yes, those don't make any sense. Long-guns losing out in long-range battles to hand guns? Nope, that shouldn't happen. But it is what it is. These are space ninjas with magical powers so I guess the guns are magical too.

1 返信Because you don’t need to be military to understand how a gun functions and sounds, and it’s a fkn video game.

2 通の返信I doubt Bungie would hire military, I would bet most of them look down on the Armed Forces. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

1 返信Hire a few veterans, let them sort the ranges and damage falloff out over drinks. The bar tab would be eye-watering, but the results would be spot-on. It's absolutely hilarious to see the bleeding heart trolls come out of the woodwork to defend Bungies poor scaling for weapons.

Ah yes, a space shooter that is about us killing aliens with wacky powers given to us by a random orb floating in the sky needs realism. If weapon ranges in the game were realistic, you would still complain, so just let them make it balanced, please.

1 返信If they have an opening, Put in your Resume. If they don't.......then they don't. Easy and simple.

Really not necessary to have military experience for this. Have a military background myself(Father was in the Air Force for 30 years and I did 4 in the Army) and while it helps, most of my firearm knowledge didn’t come from any time I served nor is it where most of the knowledge in how firearms truly work came from. It would help, but anyone with a passion for the subject is probably as good a subject matter expert as anyone else.
