It's a cosmetic system. It's kinda meaningless in the grand scheme
I'd rather have them keep addressing other issues.

You mean until they milk the whales and make the system slightly less punishing and restrictive while setting precedent for developers to not only monetize cosmetics - but entire game features in fully paid titles

20 free parts, where a set consist of 5 parts. Other games monetize cosmetics and features. That’s why they felt comfortable doing it. It’s a crap system but you lined up 7 helmets. Even if you went with the full armor sets, that’s only three seasons worth of unlocking in the free route. Not to mention you forget that exotics take up a slot, meaning you really only need to unlock 4 per set. Which makes it two seasons. I don’t like it but dude, two or three seasons to get a what you want? Easy pie.

And they ignore the fact that other games don't charge their players on DLC and season pass while bungie asks you for your money on every turn. Three seasons, means you have to sit for 6 months just to get them I have to wait that long or pay up? No thanks, less motivation for me to even boot up the game now and I'm just sticking to warframe more

Most games charge for dlc, some don’t sure. Season passes are also becoming monetized. If you want it free, yeah. I mean...if you aren’t playing anyway then why are you sweating it? Dude if the only reason you play Destiny is because of how you look, you are playing for the wrong reasons.

Who knows? I find the shooting fun, but being a walking abomination of mismatching armor pieces doesn't make me feel good when entering tower or using swords.

Well if transmog deters you from playing, then obviously it’s a top reason. 🤷 Lawd, you feel bad about how a game character looks? Get out and live life buddy. It’s just a game. Haven’t you gotten ornaments with bright dust yet?

I have spent $600 on Black Desert and $400 on Genshin in the past month I won’t pay a penny for transmog - feature that has been free in every game it has ever existed in - in a AAA paid title that has never shown any indication of becoming as heavily monetized as a F2P title. The difference between those games and this game is they’re free and they don’t charge for content and they don’t lie to you - they’re upfront that they’re coming for your cash. They don’t take 7 years of investment in a B2P model and start monetizing basic QOL features overnight.

My goodness dude..! lol Yeah I mean sure, this system is new. Nobody really knows yet how it’ll feel until we get our hands on it. But I know I’ll chip in if I feel like I’m enjoying the seasonal content loop, or just want to go for a design I like. I don’t need to 100% the whole game to say I had a good time. That’s not what Destiny is about. It’s about your friends, feeling powerful in game, & overcoming new challenges. How you look will eventually come together as you want.

Like I am in a shitty, depressing, destitute situation and I am but one of many. You got to understand these systems are designed to take advantage of people like that - people like me, people with addictions issues, people with mental health issues, kids with their parents credit cards. Not just spoiled rich kids with too much money driving ferraris. If it wasn’t designed to be that way otherwise they would at the most - the very most - sell it for a flat rate one time fee to unlock the system - but they know they can make more money this way, and they know who they’re making it from. They probably have an entire team of psychologists working along side them developing all of these systems. Most psychology majors don’t go into medical fields - they go into marketing.

My condo flooded 2 months ago and I’m on my mother’s couch now because the cost of housing has gone up %50 in the past year and I can’t even get a rental ad to reply, never mind caring about what it costs and I would need $90,000 and a double income for a down payment for a mortgage. So I have a lot of depression and a lot of disposable income at the moment. - at least it’s not drugs
