while drifter is my favorite character and if there was a destiny dating sim he would be my first choice (ignoring he fact that the guardian is canonically only 7 years old) he doesn't seem like he would qualify to be risen, he's a coward and self serving, so unless he was a completely different person in his past life I doubt he would be chosen. also how did he get those scars in his past life (this is 100% required for the lore of this game)? we know that you don't have to be a good person to be risen (lookin at you crow), just devoted, have sacrificed something for that devotion, and died.

So from what I may understand ghosts got personalities too and they res people of similar personality cause ya know it's better it's like with sundance and cayde both talk to much and don't really value their lives same with drifter probably his ghost is also full of secrets and always likes to find benefit in stuff ya'know?

While he wasn't a warlord, Ming Wu/Drifter was shaped by circumstances.

GalaxySpiderにより編集済み: 4/30/2021 7:16:19 AMBeing risen has nothing to do with someones attitude. The Ghosts seek out dead people who somehow seems to have huge potential in wielding the power of the Light (and we don't know how a Ghost tracks or "see" that on a bunch of bones...). We don't even know how Ghosts are made and why they never really talk or remember anything about the Traveler, before they went down to earth (or space) to seek out the dead. I surprised that so many people wonder about the NPCs past. What's with us? We as the player? Nobody seems to care about the character we are actually playing with.

2 通の返信Drifter's lore pre-rez was not touched on in any lore cards. We know that he was dressed nicely for his funeral so clearly someone must have cared about him enough to give him one. Maybe he was in the military or some kind of resistance or fighting group. Could explain the scars and nice funeral. I imagine some intrinsic traits from his past life stayed with with. Perhaps the ones we dont see very often, like caring for loved ones deeply. Except, now he just masks it behind cheeky motives and blind trust because he's afraid of what might happen if he opens his heart again. *Cough* looking at you, Orin! *Cough* There is just a lot of presumption and 'what ifs' due to the obscurity of his pre-rez lore. However, like many other people have said, you don't always have to be an outstandingly good person to be revived. Usually yes, but technically no.

3 通の返信You dont have to be devoted or sacrifice anything in a previous life to be guardian. Look at Micha Abram, they got turned into an exo as a child by clovis and then mostly likely died fighting vex before they became a guardian. Cayde wasn't a good guy in his past life, I mean he tried to kill Micha as a child. Its hinted that Shin malphure may have been turned into a guardian as a child. Also uldren was good until he ventured into the black garden with his friend and its hinted that the seed of corruption was planted in him then as a few year later he became the A-hole we met in D1

3 通の返信I think the experience of being risen made the man today. Especially with that repeated dying of starvation stuff.

Uh, no you don't have to be a good person. The Light erases and replaces. All you need to be is a murderer, and you'll be risen. Light grows stronger with death. The reason why the dead have a noticeable spark is that they have strong murderous intentions.

Sturm with no Drangにより編集済み: 4/29/2021 7:25:23 AMWell, he used to own a bar before it got ruined by an Iron Lord named Lady Efrideet. The Dark Ages were a wild time. But truth be told, you only really would see most of his character and personality in the Gambit gear flavor texts and his own Season’s little mini-questline. Before any of that? Hell, it could be anybody’s guess. We barely know anything about Ana and Elisabeth’s personality and they’re the closest you can get to pre-resurrection era. With the way it was described for Uldren Sov/Crow, his new character sounds like it was pretty close to how he used to be back before he visited the Black Garden as Uldren.

I believe sacrifice is the ultimate requirement the traveler sought out with the ghosts. Its tough to really guess at any guardians past life, except in Crow and Zavala's cases where we have individuals who knew these characters before they rose. My only gripe about your sttement is that Uldren Sov was not a bad guy. Honestly Uldren was one of the most badass non-guardians in Destiny. Its too bad the end of his life is all anyone remembers. Well, that and his dislike of guardians in general from D1.
