One way is by video games, if you play density for example, join a clan, or try and do lfgs, do something that will give you contact with other people and sooner or later, you'll probably find someone you vibe with. They will be an "internet person" but if you need someone to talk to, it's good to have them. Other than that try something that is completely foreign to you, but you are kind of interested in, maybe something you have been hesitant about but have been eying from a far. Maybe theater, possibly jazz band, how about a new sport, ever tried a martial art, want to be a lifeguard? Something that fits what you want but maybe is a bit out of your comfort zone. In general, just try and look for social equivalents to yourself, people who like the same music, dress the same, or are generally similar to yourself. Make light conversation in a class, and if they seem cool, allow the relationship to develop further. Also girls are able to be made friends with, don't be afraid.
