The armor you earned is... minus the ones they said were having technical difficulties.
Think of it this way... you have a favorite shirt that’s really old and starting to fall apart but you take it to a tailor to get repaired or restored (or remade exactly as you remember it), do you think the tailor should do it for free?

That thinking would fly if it weren’t for the fact that we weren’t the ones that made out favorite shirts unwearable in the first place. If someone spills coffee on your favorite shirt, they should replace it or pay for the dry-cleaning, no?

The game is evolving and updating systems all the time. To expect armor pieces to be infinitely viable is an unreasonable expectation. That’s not saying the in game system they outlined is needlessly convoluted. They could’ve made it grindy without the four or so new currencies. A quick mission to help ada-1 get out of a jam where she opens up the ‘loom’ and bounties/renewable quests to earn synthweaves would have been better.

SirEman80により編集済み: 4/24/2021 8:13:22 PMMy personal opinion is that it doesn’t matter because 99% of players don’t have that many pieces of armor they want to transmog. Business wise though it makes sense because transmog (and easily earn able in game transmog) MAY directly affect that revenue stream that is armor ornaments in eververse. Who knows? Will player being able to curate their own ornaments and ‘sets’ with transmog cut into that revenue? If it does, then transmog is a bad idea for them. Why do restaurants have ‘promotional’ items that come and go? Why is the McRib not a permanent menu item at McDonald’s? It’s because scarcity breeds desire (usually) and increases value.
-
The McRib is seasonal because there aren’t that many pigs in the world. Not false scarcity. If it doesn’t matter to you, why chime in with an irrelevant technicality about requirements? If 99% of ppl aren’t affected because they haven’t played as long and acquired as many sets, why does that make it ok to screw over those of us that have?
-
Pretty sure the McRib is not a limited time only item because of the supply of pork. Btw, I am one of those small percentage that has basically everything minus all the trials stuff (because I don’t care to grind PvP) for my main toon. Why should it be free? Seriously... why should Bungie possibly cut into one of its own revenue streams with a totally free transmog system?
-
RopeAdopeにより編集済み: 4/24/2021 8:44:36 PMWhy free transmog? Like I said before, because we are required to earn a piece of gear in the first place to be able to use it as an ornament. Because they sell ornaments exclusive to eververse as it is. Because the older gear we payed for and earned was deemed unusable by them in the first place. Long term: Because ppl that don’t buy silver won’t buy silver anyway. The ppl that will buy silver and support the the continuation of the production of new content would be the ones getting screwed over. Which would make a lot of us stop. Which would screw over everyone that plays the game in any capacity. Why do you think they reneged on sunsetting? Same reasons here Edit: look up the McRib. Interesting stuff. Kinda like how the Suez Canal traffic jam screwed up supply lines all over the world

SirEman80により編集済み: 4/24/2021 9:06:47 PMSo because you found one version of a piece of armor during your playtime, Bungie should make a system (for free) for you to turn that into a universal ornament (for FREE) to make that armor work like the ornaments they SELL in their store to earn revenue... and this is all because it’s Bungie’s fault that older armor is from a previous era/season/version of the game... am I understanding your position correctly? Personally I think they were dumb to renege on sunsetting... unlimited cheap/free transmog would destroy the armor as a “reward” system of D2. Sunsetting being cancelled basically did that anyway. What would be the reason to chase armor if one piece can immediately become an ornament? Stats?! So many of the 1% already have their “perfect” set now.
-
Yes. They created the problem in the first place. Why should we have to pay for it all again? It’s a proven phenomenon. I’m sure all those businesses and ppl didn’t leave California because they’re tired of nice weather
-
They didn’t create a problem... the armor system evolved. Should I get an Xbox series X for free because I bought a 360 years ago? They ‘created’ the problem of a 360 being outdated technology... they created games it wouldn’t run so it’s their fault I can’t use my old 360 to play Destiny?
-
RopeAdopeにより編集済み: 4/24/2021 9:20:28 PMWe can still play the games through backwards compatibility FOR FREE. Why would you fight FOR corporate greed to ruin the game? Are you a shareholder looking for short term gains on your portfolio? I mean, that’s fine for you but the players and employees might disagree since the long-term consequences would be detrimental Edit: you need to work on your analogies. Unless Microsoft walked into your house and stole your 360 and games, it makes no sense. You can still play them
-
Not all games... only the ones they spent time and resources to port over/create emulation for. And even then, most publishers SELL updated/current versions of older games that actually work on the new hardware Corporate greed? Holy smokes... 🤦♂️ Bungie took resources (staffing, money, time, etc.) that could have been put toward creating new content that they could SELL to you in the form of expansions/seasons... to create a system (needlessly convoluted as it is) where player could choose to take old content (armor) and curate their own set of universal ornaments (in direct competition to one of their most consistent current revenue streams)... and that also decreases the in-game value of all armor and disincentivizes armor chase... and your conclusion is that use of that system should be FREE to you because you played the game when those armor items were current. Sorry, but that’s unreasonable. Bungie has a lot of problems and does a lot of things I disagree with and think are not the best choice for the game... but their limits and prices for this system is not one of them.
