<The Nine are entities made of dark matter that were formed by DM loops getting increasingly complex over time and being gravitationally bound to Sol's 9 largest celestial bodies. However, what really sparked their "birth", as in giving them thought and consciousness, was the evolution of life in the Solar System. They're effect on the material plane is very limited, and extinction events and other scenarios make their relationship with life dangerous to their survival. All of the Nine wish to become "real", to shed their shackles and basically be normal gods. However, the Traveler has divided them. 5 of the Nine, the ones we talk to/about often, wish to have the Light and use it to become more. They do this by attempting to work with us and abusing our power to do what they want. They're also responsible for Xur and the Emissary, the complete removal of will on both subjects. They're also responsible for the Skolas incident and may or may not have killed Sjur Eido. 4 of the Nine wish to become real through their own methods. They abuse dark matter and gravity in order to make things of their own, and believe that the 5 are idiots for being preoccupied in our (mortal) affairs. They hate us because we're idiots for not taking warnings at face value up until we found a derelict -blam!-ing Pyramid underneath the god damned Moon. Though this does not line up with the Legends Grimoire Card of old, that card still has relevance, just not in the way it was originally presented.>
