When I read the TWAB me and my friends started talking about the shaders immediately. Our general consensus was that it seemed unnecessary and a little "greasy" (looking at you finance team), but that it was understandable.
It seemed weird cause their reasoning was that shaders are now 1 time purchases, but they have been one time purchases since collections was introduced, so nothing changed.
Then I remembered that just this season (season 13) Bungie buffed the amount of Bright Dust it was giving it's players, ONLY FOR THEM TO INCREASE BRIGHT DUST PRICES ONE SEASON LATER.
I have always been on board with Eververse. It's a good idea that let's Bungie make a free to play game, but this is just a "-blam!- you" to consumers.
It's obvious that Bungie realized that an increase in Bright Dust made it easier for people to buy an eververse set for bright dust, meaning they might only spend 15 dollars on one set instead of 30 to buy two sets. So they created a completely BS reason to increase the price of shaders in hopes that it would reduce the amount of Bright Dust people have left over, causing more people to spend 15 dollars on their silver sets.
At the end of the day, it's not about the shaders. I really don't care about spending a little more imaginary money on a shader. It's about the fact that I feel like I was tricked by a company who just wanted money. And it's about the fact that this is two steps back. This is the first domino that people ignore that leads to more things increasing in price and eventually things going silver only.
Thanks for reading :)

1 返信TheShadowにより編集済み: 4/22/2021 10:47:07 PMI would say I'm shocked at how many players don't pay attention to the game they are playing, or more so what actions have actually taken place that they haven't paid attention to either for the last year or so, because Bungie has a huge list of crap they dumped on you guys and it keeps piling up, and the sad thing is most of you refuse to look at it. I've been reading over this forum today and what is the biggest grip on the first page? (the cost for items and sliver), and every time the price goes up for something or Bungie removes something that makes it harder to collect whatever? Post start flooding this forum as if this is a ("new thing Bungie has been doing")
News flash people, it's not. Bungie has been manipulating the entire player base for the last 4 years, and it started getting really bad right after Forsaken when they started jacking up the cost to masterwork items among other things, and shoving Eververse in our face. Let's take a little trip back to when the manipulating actually kicked in. (Cores) thanks to some bright streamers Masterwork cores were changed to Enhancement cores and the game has gone downhill since and it keeps getting worse as time moves on with Eververse and other cosmetic BS in this game that is literally drowning this game. This is who this Bungie is today and I knew this day was coming when the real talent that cared about the player base and the game started leaving this company. Here it is that some of you were so happy Luke was moved to doing other things yet nothing has changed with this company when it comes to them looking to sucker players into their BS.
Just replace Valhalla with Destiny 2 and Ubisoft with Bungie, and every point in this video still stands. This is a complete joke, and won’t change until foolish people stop giving their money to greedy companies. For features that should be free and easily accessible

Not to mention since it’s gonna be grindy, why not give us the ability to unlock armor sets and shaders we missed thru this system? Would love Black armory set for my Titan, this would have been a good way to do such. Edit: thanks for posting OP.

2 通の返信Devious Mikeにより編集済み: 4/23/2021 12:03:47 AMYou have always been on board with Eververse since this a is free to play game? This game wasn't free until almost 2 years into its lifespan. It cost $60, plus Curse of Osiris and Warmind DLC, which, for the most part, has been all but deleted. So that was a big middle finger to everyone who bought all that. And as a "free" player, what do you actually get? Earth, Cosmodrome (nothing to do there anyway) and access to crucible, strikes, and gambit. You still have to pay for Shadowkeep, Forsaken, and Beyond Light if I'm not mistaken. Not to mention the season pass. Game isn't as free as you might think. If you don't pay, you are basically just playing a demo. So I'm not exactly sure where you get the idea that Eververse is justified because Bungie allows people access to about 20% of their game at no cost.

7 通の返信No one tricked you. Bungie exists in the RW and the hundreds of people working at Bungie need to make money to feed their families.

Pretty much every umbral engram I’ve ever had I’ve decrypted then deleted what I’ve got from it. I haven’t unlocked whatever the -blam!- all the slots are though. Anyway, it costs me 5 legendary shards to decrypt and I get 4 back when I delete. That’s a ripoff in itself. I get flooded with worthless damn embral engrams. Not only that but I have to go to the “H.E.L.M” to decrypt them (which is a place in the tower, but inaccessible from the tower). I have a lot of complaints, sure, but it sure feels like Bungie half-asses the shit out this game.

3 通の返信The logic behind this change is just...not logical. They were a permanent unlock before at 40 dust. Does the removal of needing legend shards to repurchase justify like a 700% increase in bright dust cost? No, no it does not. Especially since no one really gives a rip about legend shards.

6 通の返信Can you guys not complain about everything for 5 minutes? Cmon, I’m sure all of you have over 10,000 bright dust stashed away. “Manipulation”? It’s a free currency in a video game. I thought we were better than this...

19 通の返信I think you need a reminder on what "1 time purchase" means. Unlocking the shader for use HAS always been a 1 time purchase. But you also had to buy copies of it any time you wanted to use more of it. The unlock was one time, the shader itself being consumed meant that the actual copy put on your gear was not one time buy. The higher price is fine. This way we have an infinite use shader instead of having to spend glimmer and shards on buying extra copies. Those may not be super rare for the sweats out there but for casual players or weekend warriors, it's a big help. Plus, even sweats will benefit from this. How much do you think you spend on shaders in a year? At 2 shards and 500 glimmer per shader, if you buy 5 copies of 1 shader, you've spent 2500 glimmer and 10 shards. Not much, right? But what if you get armor with a better roll, or a better look, and swap? Now you've spent 5000 glimmer and 20 shards. That happens two more times and it's suddenly 10k glimmer and 40 shards. Still seem small? Say you're not set on a fashion and you're swapping up that many times per week. In a month, you've spent 40k glimmer and 160 shards. Do that every month for a year until you settle on a style and that's 1,920 shards and 480k glimmer. To sweats those may seem small but that's still resources you could have spent much better on non-cosmetics, and it's certainly a loss that casuals and weekend warriors would feel. 300 bright dust, which is pocket change even to weekend warriors, in exchange for never having to spend ANY form of currency on that shader ever again? That's more than fair.
