iirc auto rifle mods also affect trace rifles, i.e. auto rifle reload also increases reload for tracies

Hope they bring legendaries soon. A test weapon as a new ritual weapon would be really cool. Omolon’s attempt at mass production or something. They made Trace rifles follow the auto rifle mods. Then they split Special Ammo Finder/Scavenger mods up into different weapon types. They then forgot to add trace rifles back in or attach them to autos for the new perks. Idk. They’re fun to use but need a little help in PvE (either a bit more damage or reserves).

I would love to see some Ikelos prototypes, or braytech prototypes, or even something from the black armory. Each of the trace rifles have been nerfed. PL got its first nerf due to a bug in pvp (Star Wars weekend), its ammo regeneration nerfed, Coldheart got its damage nerfed after people used it to wipe Calus, Wavesplitter got nerfed for crucible shenanigans, and I think they've nerfed divinity as well but I can't remember what they did to it. In all honesty, if they reverted the ammo regen nerf on PL, I would be happy and use it a LOT more once again.

i could never get into trace rifles myself, found them to be too lacking in every department besides looks to be useful. would be nice to see prometheus get a "killing enemies creates a heat radius, killing enemies while heat radius is at max causes them to explode" sort of thing.

When they first came out, they were very strong. The PL could regen its ammo through crit kills which was great for dealing with trash mobs. Imagine doing the Reckoning without ever worrying about reloading your weapon! Also the giant orb of fire from sustained fire was great for dealing with large mobs at once. I can say that going through the tickle room in shattered throne as well as the final taken trash clear in prophecy is MUCH easier with the PL. The Coldheart was wiping calus like a runny nose, so they had to nerf the damage output on it. Ruinous Effigy made the prophecy dungeon and shattered throne easy as well.

That’d be cool. I’d highly recommend Wavesplitter. Easy to track enemies with its sights, beam doesn’t distort view. High power mode can tear through enemies. An orb of light/High Energy Fire build can put in work.
