FPS Massive Drops - PC

There has been this issue going around where the frames of the game dip so far down that it makes the game unplayable. At first I was hearing about it from a few of my friends since the drop of Beyond Light, but now I'm experiencing it as of earlier this week on Monday, March 29th. I had played earlier in the morning and everything had been the same it had always been since I started playing completely on PC back in November 2020. I sit in orbit, stand still in the tower, walk ONE step in crucible and my entire frame rate is like self destructing. Now this is where you may blame my internet, or my PC hardware. Well in fact, my internet is golden, and so is my PC hardware. I have it all up to date and even refreshed my drivers for the game. I have had the opinions of MANY people who all see the issue I'm dealing with, as I shouldn't even have a FPS drop issue but its only in Destiny 2. I can play any other game and be more than 100%. I'm not going to be snarky and abuse devs on twitter and what not to fix their game. But for me...this is one of my favorite games...and I know for a fact this is occurring to not just me, but as well as some of my friends and even others in the D2 community who I don't even know until coming across them on twitter through the same FPS drop issue. Please take this into consideration and look into it. I shouldn't have to revert back to my first gen ps4 to play destiny 2 smoother than my PC that has the hardware to play the game 10x over.

  • Hy, I also have many troubles with FPS Drops after BL Launch in Nov. 2020. I could solve this for me deleting the Direct X Shader Cache. Also I have FPS drops sometimes after Driver Updates of my graphics card. After deleting the direct x shadercaches helped me out. How to delete the Direct X shader Cache: - Open Windows Explorer - Right Click on C:\ - Select Properties - Open the General Tab - Open the Disk Clean Up Function - Select Direct X Shader Cache from the List - Klick OK Also this Video helped me with that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gjo2oRZ9kUE I hope it also helps you out.
