Non-Season Pass holders can’t access the nightfall???
Yep, the game has regressed back into paywalling content we’ve paid for already: welcome back to The Dark Below!
I understand I can’t play the new strike without the season pass, that is totally fine. What isn’t fine is locking out a whole playlist (on a double reward week no less) for people who blew money on your latest expansion. Is there really not a playlist with a different strike for non-pass holders??

Bungie should honestly just make the nightfall free because of how laughable bad they messed up. Blatant false advertising and only fixing the issue when it’s the nightfall with Adept Palindrome and double rewards. Not even a sorry from them. Just a sucks to be you is all F2P gets.

Like, if I couldn’t access it at all without the DLC, that would make sense. If I couldn’t access the Nightfall playlist without the DLC, that would also make sense. Sure, I’d be losing access to content I already payed for, but that hasn’t stopped them before. The way it is now, it just feels like an oversight. Edit: Nevermind, I can’t access it normally either.

7 通の返信Not trying to be the toxic commenter type of person but I have to 100% disagree. I don't think anybody should be able to do a free-to-play and play End Game content. It's nothing more than a glorified demo to be able to experience the game. It wasn't meant for the community to run free to play, they're a business after all. Plus there's several other reasons I could mention why free-to-play player should be locked out of certain things that I won't bore you with.

1 返信There shouldn’t be any free to play in this game due to its scope. However when they change ownership of the franchise the game took a HUGE hit and the content released wasn’t nearly on par with what used to be. It resulted in a major loss of player base. Hence they opened up free to play to gain back the player base. Which worked wonders for them! They improved Eververse and raised the price (and perks) to play content for paid users, then cut content in half by sun setting with seasons and time gating end game content. The free to play aspect of the game is absolutely huge content wise for games of this quality. It was a publicity move that paid off for them in more ways than one. The game isn’t going to change from here. They’ll never retract that. Paid content now is to give you access to just a couple of other things, and some gear and weapons (including exotics). Proportionally, the paid content is basically 3x less vs what the game used to be, at the same price (because of free to play access vs paid content gameplay).

Just because you’re an intern at apple/google/big tech firm, you don’t have a right to the company private jet to use at your whims.

Every new strike from Y2 to now has required the expansion and season. Previously, the strike was release during the expansion (like glassway). You didn’t know you had to have the season because you got the season when you bought the expansion. Doesn’t mean it was different. You should have to own the annual expansion and the season in which content is being released. Stop being cheap. Maybe buy deluxe editions to get the expansion and all seasons.

4 通の返信Not only the nightfall. Those who only own the season pass not with Beyond Light are also locked out of a Weekly Seasonal Challenge (released this week) as well as 2 Seasonal Triumphs (player and team flawless nightfall run)
