I have been farming up some Bottom Dollars. I think since the update to the drop rate I have averaged one ever 3 games or so. Making it somewhat reasonable to go after different rolls.
That said, I think the game would benefit from a reduced perk pool on weapons like this. My reasoning is that by reducing the time required to get a good roll, it will promote the idea of going after something else.
Example. I have found several, "ok" rolls on the Bottom Dollar. Good enough for how much I plan to use the gun. BUT, there are a couple of rolls that I would like to try out. So I have done a small amount of farming. I don't think it's an unreasonable amount. I don't think it feels particularly unrewarding. And I will likely switch to something else as the week goes on. Maybe the Nightfall loot.
There are a LOT of things to hunt in D2. Hell, I still need to finish the Hawkmoon RR quest. Now, I generally play 2-3 hours every other day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. And I rarely have issues completing the things I go for in a season. So again, and I can't state this enough, I am not complaining about the gear or the grind.
But I like doing a variety of things in the game. So I think lessening to perk pools would keep the "hunt" aspect, but also promote players spreading out their time a bit more. A good example of this was with the Season of Dawn. Because of the way you got loot, it was easy to get the rolls that you wanted on just about everything.
But to ME, that was a bit TOO generous in terms of drops. It was cool getting loot, but it was not as rewarding as getting a drop. I like finishing a match and waiting to see what I get.
To ME, that is fun.
More focused perk pools allow for a happy medium. Keep the "fun" of hunting for drops. But also increase the change that those drops are more meaningful. Another potential benefit is the ability to have variants. Bottom Dollar has these perks. Middle Dollar has another set. Same base weapon, but two separate uses and loot hunts, without having them feel like a true rehash of one another.
Fixed rolls made this grind far too easy. Too many options make the grind feel tedious at times.
A happy medium would, IMO, make the overall pursuit better.
Just some thoughts.

1 返信Bungie made the perk pool have more options to give players a sense of unique weapon identity to make your drop feel special to you. They F’d up in that 99% of drops having trash rolls disrespects the player’s time. I’m not even going to bother going for a bottom dollar or other weapon with odds over 10,000:1 that it drops with the two perks mag combo and barrel I want. Bungie tried to “fix” this problem with BD by increasing the drop rate, but I’d still need to play >10,000 games to statistically have a ~100% chance of getting my roll. NO THANKS.

2 通の返信3 questions. One, why many perks? Two, why some powerful perks? Three, why don't you get it right away? Answer? Hint: It's in your brain. Buyer beware. You are your problem. No not the OP. All of you. Hehe. You are your own nightmare. Hehe. Brain.

Or have per selections like some things can randomly appear with for no reason. Especially now with Iron Perks being among the worst things you have no control over. The idea is nice, but having such a dramatic debuff with a not so great buff to attempt to counteract it can make some weapons just flat out unusable.

5 通の返信Thing is without sunsetting now these weapons are likely part of the playlist for a long time now. So it makes no sense to make it easier to get the roll you want on a potential reward that you will be getting for the next year or longer.

2 通の返信The2ndWaveにより編集済み: 3/25/2021 8:49:42 PMAh. The Earth zone. Habitable zone. Space lingo as the Goldilocks zone. Not to hot, not to cold, just right. Ideal living conditions, in this case gaming conditions. Smart request. But too many opinions now in the game from everyone I don't know which ones is ideal for the game anymore. I have my preference. I'm not dropping it here. But this is a fair request. Might not be the one they have in mind right now I don't know who knows. The game has always been in conflict with the gamers and gamers in conflict with other gamers so I don't even want to add anything to that cesspool anymore. Hehe. Goldilocks zone seems like nonexistent in this game. Never has. If there ever was, gamers would have ruined it for each other. Babies are the main crowd here. They cry for milk and milk it is. Milking cow. Hehe. Good luck on request though. It's a legit one but I don't know. Hope for best or worse. Seems like they can't even get that one right.

4 通の返信Fewer combinations....not 'less'. Grammar. lol Seriously though...the RNG system has ALWAYS been broken. It's like they use a canned response RNG code and it lags out and spits out the same thing over and over. Or it lags out and fails to give any response. Bungie is too lazy to fix it. On the opposite side of the scale they need to add more protections for bad RNG as never getting anything is the opposite of fun. The recent RAID drop pro's being the only real response to the never getting a reward and they screwed that up and had to fix it too.

1 返信I finally got my first BD yesterday after my last game of Gambit and got a pretty decent roll, Rangefinder and Eye of the Storm. I think I have it equipped on my titan if you'd like to take a peek, and tbh its been pretty solid so far

6 通の返信Have you been using Prosperity (Gambit) on your ghost shell? If not. I highly recommend using that on your adventure to obtaining Bottom Dollar. There's a Prosperity for Strikes and Crucible as well, these help you get that extra chance of having a legendary item drop at the end of every match. Happy hunting!

We need some kind of a recalibration station like in the divison. In exchange of materials we can change master work of weapons. Additionally, a gun with a perk I want can be destroyed and transfer that perk to another gun. Same gun less cost, different gun way much more cost.

I found at least 30 arse dollars looking for a decent crowd pleaser and I found perfect pvp variations but alas none of them had good pve rolls. Needless to say I gave up on searching after finding only one crowd pleaser in a whole week of playing gambit.

3 通の返信They actually said in a TWAB that they purposely made them low drop rates with stupid large perk pools.

4 通の返信I feel they just need to introduce a way to re roll perks. Which could cost resources.

No. It's better to have lots of options as it keeps the gun feeling fresh and let's you get both great pvp rolls and pve. Plus knowing bungie, they would remove the good perks and leave us with combos like slideways/disruption break Look at the NF ordeal weapons, most of the perks suck making farming for a decent roll long and arduous.

draycoleにより編集済み: 3/26/2021 3:29:53 AMThis is why bungie shouldn't listen to this forum. This is a terrible idea. 1. It might sound nice, until you realize bungie removes all the perks and leaves you with genesis, disruption break, and hip fire grip. You could, potentially, fully eliminate the possibility of getting that God roll. 2. Why not just add a way for us to grind for specific perks? Like what if we had to grind the activity to unlock a certain selection of perks.?something to narrow down and pursue what we want. 3. Or just increase drop rates Not remove options.

5 通の返信Roryrekrにより編集済み: 3/25/2021 11:00:48 PMI think they need to scrap this random roll systems. They should go back to the D1 model where all perks were lockable and once you unlocked them you could make whatever build you wanted, anytime. I’m sick of having multiple weapons with different builds, it’s taking up too much vault space.

1 返信Didn’t read all that past your drop rate. 1 drop in 3 games. I’ve gotten 2 in like 35-40 games. One was so bad it was an instant delete.
-
I think you are missing the worst-case scenario with having a smaller perk pool. You can still not getting what you want due to rng. With a large pool when you get one, you can be forgiving because rng wasn't on your side. If you constantly fail to get what you want with a small perk pool what solution other than a ridiculously high drop rate which then might as well be world drops.
