IMO Low drop rate items need to have less perk combinations.

I have been farming up some Bottom Dollars. I think since the update to the drop rate I have averaged one ever 3 games or so. Making it somewhat reasonable to go after different rolls. That said, I think the game would benefit from a reduced perk pool on weapons like this. My reasoning is that by reducing the time required to get a good roll, it will promote the idea of going after something else. Example. I have found several, "ok" rolls on the Bottom Dollar. Good enough for how much I plan to use the gun. BUT, there are a couple of rolls that I would like to try out. So I have done a small amount of farming. I don't think it's an unreasonable amount. I don't think it feels particularly unrewarding. And I will likely switch to something else as the week goes on. Maybe the Nightfall loot. There are a LOT of things to hunt in D2. Hell, I still need to finish the Hawkmoon RR quest. Now, I generally play 2-3 hours every other day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. And I rarely have issues completing the things I go for in a season. So again, and I can't state this enough, I am not complaining about the gear or the grind. But I like doing a variety of things in the game. So I think lessening to perk pools would keep the "hunt" aspect, but also promote players spreading out their time a bit more. A good example of this was with the Season of Dawn. Because of the way you got loot, it was easy to get the rolls that you wanted on just about everything. But to ME, that was a bit TOO generous in terms of drops. It was cool getting loot, but it was not as rewarding as getting a drop. I like finishing a match and waiting to see what I get. To ME, that is fun. More focused perk pools allow for a happy medium. Keep the "fun" of hunting for drops. But also increase the change that those drops are more meaningful. Another potential benefit is the ability to have variants. Bottom Dollar has these perks. Middle Dollar has another set. Same base weapon, but two separate uses and loot hunts, without having them feel like a true rehash of one another. Fixed rolls made this grind far too easy. Too many options make the grind feel tedious at times. A happy medium would, IMO, make the overall pursuit better. Just some thoughts.
