Hello all,
To any mod, please sticky as I believe this will help.......
Now I cannot attest to Intel/Nvidia or Intel/AMD users, as I have AMD Cpu and Gpu. However, the following method/principle should be similar. I first tested this when I was gifted my 6900xt a month ago and again after todays update. THANKFULLY I was able to duplicate my results. SO, to start, for any who have a similar setup as my, my specs are as follows:
Ryzen 3700x (stock settings)
gigabyte aurus master x570 (default settings latest bios)
powercolor 6900xt (rage mode) (latest driver)
gksill 3600 ram xmp enabled
samsung nvme and ssd's
I tried every solution I could google with no luck. What did work however was this:
If you have an AMD Gpu: in settings // global make sure enhanced sync is off. set anything else to whatever you want. turning off enhanced sync IMMEDIATLEY stopped the stuttering issues, especially stasis in pvp... thank the traveler.
In Windows. open disk cleaner, run as admin, delete the shader cache... and thats it.... thats all I did.
disable enhanced sync, delete windows dx cache running as admin. I have done this just today after 1. Destiny updated 2. windows updated 3. AMD drivers updated.
therefore, having owned an nvidia gpu previously, enabled gsync should be safe, however, if it has any option to enhance gsync, or boost it or whatever, disable that.
I am running my monitor and game at 1440p 144hz full screen. I have NOT tweaked or changed ANYTHING else as mentioned in any other post anywhere on the internet as they made no difference. No tweaks to cvars file. no deleting the AMD cache in the software. none.
hopefully others can duplicate this issue, and someone can figure out what's going on with the windows dx cache and how destiny and our GPU's are dependent on it and fix this...
if this doesn't work??????? i really dont know ya'll.... but i tried. if you have questions I will try to answer them as best as I can for as long as I can.
edit// I should also add that certain areas like the tangled shore still have poor fps... however I am averaging across all areas of the game in which I play in 118fps...

well thats dissapointing, as i spent weeks searching for answers and never came across what i did. :( honeslty surprised it didnt help? my post wasnt to imply it fixed the poor fps issues. its and improvement sure. but not the answer the world is looking for. maybe my post was misleading and i will edit that... apologies. but my fix fixes the game stuttering and freezing and running at 3 fps. it still sucks considering we have top tier gpus and should be running this game without a sweat. but it was an improvement i was able to duplicate. and im betting come the next update i can do it once again...

Tried that, no help. Ehanced sync is off in my default setting. Delete shades cache may help improve 3-5 fps. But the low-level rendering mechanism and pipeline still don't change in your way. I bet you still can't get your fps over 60 in Tangled Shore.

definitely not, tangled shore chugs. but this fix wasnt to improve fps. it was to make the game playable and stop the stutter. before i couldnt even play without the game freezing and dropping to 3 fps. now after gaming for 5 hours or more after that entire time doing all activities. pvp strikes (god forbidden gambit) etc. it wont freeze or stutter. stasis doesnt kill the game and ill average 118 fps across the board.
