I'm not complaining about the game so no worries here. This is from a community standpoint. People consistently hate on hunters in this game and I don't get why. From my perspective hunter seems more weapon centric as a class. The abilities are okay don't get me wrong but they're definitely not the strongest. So, I'm gonna break down why I don't think the hunter deserves the hate it gets.
First, hunters get three different jumps but only one is really used. Triple jump is really the only good one in most situations. Gives you good verticality and helps create a quick aversion when in air. Otherwise the other jumps are lack luster. Honestly when it comes to jumps I feel like top tree dawn has the best but fair enough it's an aerial based class.
Second, melee in all light subclasses is a little finicky without building towards it. For gunslinger the throwing knifes can do good damage if you use marksman you can one shot headshot a melee. Though not as consistently as titan shoulder charges. Void subclass you get a smoke bomb which situationally and with good accuracy is pretty good but does negligible damage. You can also do one that lets you get cloaked which can be fun if you build towards it. Arc strider is probably my favorite for PvE but most pvp applications unless you're running liars handshake is a gamble. Once again gotta give my love to top tree dawn for best melee.
Third, grenade options. These can be pretty strong but none are consistent kills without building towards it. void walls are probably some of the best when it comes to combo-ing because you can use it with your smoke bomb. Trip mine is probably one of the best solar nades and can one shot if you build towards it other wise not amazing because of the delay. Scatter is kind of meh in my opinion and so are skips. Skips can be good with a build towards using them but not really amazing in my opinion. Arc web is probably my favorite for arcstrider good tag damage and chaining. Though I'd have to give best nades over all to the pulse nade or solar grenade. Both offer either good zone denial or high damage.
Finally dodge in my opinion one of the most skill intensive abilities in the game. This ability can either save you or kill you in most situations. You could dodge to safety with good map awareness and game sense or right into the rest of the enemy team's line of sight. It's high risk high reward on the light subclasses at least. (I'm avoiding stasis until they're done tuning it because most classes are kind of broken with it). The reward for this being kill/escape potential and either a reload or melee refresh if an enemy is close. In my opinion it's not the best ability it's situational and requires map knowledge and game sense to be consistently useful. Honestly on demand heals or cover seems better in my opinion. Yeah, I know there is more nuance to it and different options but comparably dodge seems lack luster.
To me these are the reasons why I don't think hunter is over powered. Arguably some of our supers are good but supers are supposed to be good. Otherwise the abilities reward good gunplay, game sense, and map awareness. It's the probably the highest skill cap of the classes comparably when it comes to ability usage. If I had to pick a class based on abilities alone I'd probably choose top tree dawn as either strongest or close to with striker titan. (it's still good btw behemoth just overshadows it now. Not broken but good.)
I know most people are just gonna say I'm wrong and that hunters are OP anyways but hey maybe I'll change a few minds with this one.

I'm only gonna address one thing in your wall of text. Dodge is the single strongest pvp ability in Destiny. Pair it with literally any dodge exotic and you're already winning battles you should've lost. Rifts and barricades are extremely situational, and activating one in the middle of a firefight means instant death.

They have a dodge that heals them and breaks your aim assist. They have Bakris. They can turn invisible. Their Stasis class is amazing. They have the best neutral game in D2 with a wide array of viable exotics while Warlocks barely get anything (while getting slapped with nerfs). And yet many Hunter mains STILL complain that the class needs serious buffs like instant automatic tethers and that other classes need to be toned down. They're very vocal about it, and that's just a bad look.

Careful, you use a class. You're about to be told you deserve the hate for using it. If you use no characters or class <> you'll be fine. Jk This is all subjective.... On the real tho, I find hunters to be a toss up, 50/50 good or bad. It takes skill to be a good hunter cause the tool kit is hard to use mostly. For titans I find they have the easiest time in neutral and super game so I see new people all the time dominating with it. For those who picked warlock- i see really really bad ones who def don't know how to use it at all and really really good ones who are a nightmare to verse and they move like heavenly angels on a revenge streak. That being said- people hate hunters the most for some reason anyways. Especially revenant hunters. (Oh no, bungie made a subclass again guys.) I can surmise it is because most of the community plays hunter. So there are more good and bad encounters with the class. I tend to switch between all 3- and yes I have been using stasis lately cause I paid for the DLC, im gonna use what is at my disposal. (Just like with forsaken). I am not here for other peoples enjoyment outside of my clan and the people I sherpa. Im here to have fun and play an amazing game. If people got a problem with you being a hunter- eff em. If they got a problem with you being any other class or using any other weapon or ability? Eff em. They don't understand this game at all and think their way of playing is the shiny, untouchable, and only way of playing. Play how you want. Use what you want. And- keep on dodge rolling!!!!

2 通の返信I don't know why you wrote a novel . Tldr . Hunter hate stems from it being the easiest class , had/has the best roaming supers, an is rarely nerfed an when it is it's 3000 days to late , yet warlocks get punted in a week for dumb b.s or they take the one decent titan PvE exotic from us .

6 通の返信Im a hunter main and honestly i think how you tried to describe hunters is a reason people hate the class.. no class deserves hate anyhow tho each class is like a different play style and sure some supers may be annoying but every class has that one super that is considered toxic yaknow?

7 通の返信Stasis makes hunters the strongest class. Auto tracking bouncing freezing melee. Bakris making hunters teleport past people. Stompies making hunters movement the best. A panic super that lasts for a long time. The super isnt the best compared to titans stasis but its neutral game is incredible. Fyi no idea why anyone hates any class its kinda dumb. But i get why some are frustrated at a 120/felwinters stasis hunter...

Double jump is VERY good in PvP. Most of the top tier players use Double Jump. Not triple. Revenant has the best neutral game(abilities) of any class currently. And did you seriously just say the hunter evade is a “high risk, high reward maneuver? That’s just insulting. YOU are part of the reason hunters get so much flak. YOU’RE OBVIOUSLY DELUSIONAL.... lol
