I've been getting really tough teams in comp but as for team mates they have all been a little lower then average. I would like to hope that when they do fix balancing it will actually work correctly and put me with teams that are my skill level and against teams I have a fighting chance against.

Destiny’s matchmaking works on a 50/50 ratio. Thats what the system aims to do. I win 1 and then lose 1 like clockwork. First match, I’m the highest ‘elo’ player in the lobby and I have some decent teammates. Next match, I play 3 top 1% players in the world. Of course there are variations, win 2, lose 2, etc. but at the end, the system will always try to balance you out. Check out people’s win ratios on destinytracker. Theyr all 50% +- 7%. There are amazingly good players that are higher and amazingly bad players that are lower. At the end of the day, its a matchmaking system designed to make you win a little and lose a little. This way they can cater to the masses and people get a little angry but not too angry that they quit. Dumbasses like me get addicted to trying to get to 5500 and are stuck in an endless loop of win 1 lose 1. Next time you lose like 6 in a row, keep playing, you’ll go on some win streaks and you’ll end up right back where you were.

1 返信The problem with lobby balancing comes from the fact that pvp’s population is so low right now. For both cbmm and sbmm to work, there needs to be a very healthy population for pvp. If there isn’t, well... The game has to CONSTANTLY cut corners in game. With cbmm, it has to match you with players you shouldn’t normally match with in other parts of the world. It becomes a lag fest as a result. This will also extend searching for players in orbit. Both reasons for cbmm become irrelevant. With sbmm, a low player pool causes the game to once again cut corners. It will STILL match high tier players into a low player lobby, since it continually has to extend the skill pool to match you as fast as possible. Lobby balancing become: Team 1: 1 high Elo player 5 underperforming Elo Team 2: 3-4 mid+ to mid elo players 3-2 low+ Elo players This will typically be the case with nearly all lobbies with sbmm. Since the population is far too low to be sustainable, the game will have to continually cut corners and match people together with people they shouldn’t normally match with. The biggest factor hurting pvp in destiny right now is indeed, it’s population. Without a very large population, neither sbmm or cbmm will work. Lobby balancing goes out the door in both cases and can match you with practically anyone. I know loot incentive is said to entice pve players to join. But look at the currant 3 playlist weapons in rotation for a minute. A high impact pulse and adaptive sidearm are currently NOT meta in pve. The sniper might work however. Their perk pool is so drastically high that most pve players will give up searching for a god roll VERY quickly after a few terrible rolls. Their drop rate is abysmal. Even with the buff coming soon, I don’t think it’s going to be enough to convince players to play for extended periods, as it was was said in the article that the weapons will STILL be pretty rare. Sorry for the long paragraph. These are just my highlights on the situation.

Total Pvp revamp needed.

1 返信My opinion is that the population of PVP has dwindled down because of CBMM. The ones getting their asses handed to them over and over, get tired of it, and quit playing. This ends up leaving mostly the upper level players, playing. I call it, Self Imposed Skill Based Matchmaking, and the good players have a great time harvesting scrubs, up until the scrubs get tired of it, and leave. So, you are now facing more great players, then scrubs, and those just looking to finish their bounties and get out, and will naturally match against the great players more often.

1 返信Been this way for years, "oh you're actually pretty decent at pvp? Good hears some dudes literally playing destiny for the first time for your team, and for the other team here's some dudes that have at least 3k hours in pvp alone. Have fun! " - Bungie

1 返信I realized that better you are in pvp, worse are the mates that are with you in the team, sometimes its ok because unless the group average is fine, other times its a disaster. Well, there are 2 ways to face this, one is that you are going to improve playing with top players, the another one is that in short terms, its frustrating until you progress on your skills. For casual pvp players, they are going to throw the controller by the window for sure.

karmaにより編集済み: 3/11/2021 10:07:03 PMFor me, freelance comp tends to be a lot sweatier than normal comp (even as a solo). I'm guessing the sbmm algorithm is more strict in freelance. On that note, it's weird how comp matchmaking seems skill based, rather than glory based. Even when I'm at low glory, I still consistently match against teams with diamond elo's (since that's where I'm currently at). Because of this, I usually get easier lobbies when I team with friends who have much lower elo/kd's than me, compared to when I play comp solo. So if you want a tip for comp, try playing with people who suck (I think it's because this system caters more to casuals which Bungie often does - not saying it's good or bad it's just a trend) Also, since a lot of people are talking about quickplay, I don't think there's sbmm in qp, based on personal experience. There is however team balancing, so for instance, the game will try to put the best 2 players on opposing teams. I say this because going through match history on destinytracker, there's usually an equal 2-3 diamond elos on each team (unless I play a 4-6 stack of all diamonds, then matchmaking is wonky and it's almost always a quick fat L). So basically, in almost every qp game you'll play against 1 or more legend/flawless seals, but chances are you probably have one on your team too.

Lobbies are horrible. About 80-95% of time it is mercy. Which why I only grab the weekly pinnacle and never come back before reset. I used to play for just fun but laggers and KD farmers has made me avoid crucible.

4 通の返信It's not easy to solo to legend in survival. If glory matters you you, why gamble it on random team mates that are under average? Wouldn't it make more sense to stack the deck in your favor by choosing above average players, then mic up so you can communicate and coordinate. I soloed to legend, but I play to win, but don't mind losing. To solo, you need to have decent skill and tons of patience. Do you want PvP tips?

Moof Juiceにより編集済み: 3/11/2021 5:11:36 AMLast season I tied my all time record for most defeats in a survival game while losing 44 Forty -blam!-ing four And I lose It’s happened twice now Also, IDR if it was last season or the season before but once in freelance I got an 870 elo teamate who was at like 600 glory While I was playing at 5500 glory with over 100 wins at 5500 that season and 2800 elo Literally a 2,000 elo disparity in teamates Bungie matchmaking is complete cheeks

Was coming on the forums to write this exact post.. this whole week I’ve been between Gold I through III and I’ve been getting paired with diamonds I-III in comp... did they change something without talking about it?

3 通の返信You know... If Bungie sees you are slightly above average they expect you to carry the lobby. I remember when I had to carry during my 3x legend runs for Unbroken. I had to put on Antaeus Wards with Felwinter and help those dying kids to win. And how did I? Camping on widowscourt inside the heavy building. I was close to legend the 2nd time, so of course no mercy. I literally pulled of a 0 lifes vs 4 lives to a o lives and full eliminated, just because of felwinter/antaeus wards... And because my teammates were apparently only at brave, while I was mythic 3...

A_moにより編集済み: 3/11/2021 12:31:21 AMEverything is getting/going to get better. I personally can't fathom some of the stuff I've seen the game doing lately in terms of just overall performance. There's something that's just unbelievable about the way this game suddenly looks like I spent money on hardware to make it look and perform better.

1 返信Just played a quickplay match. Most of my teammates were new players, yet the enemy was a full team of competent players. Im not amazing but if i get into a good rhythm i can pull my weight and more. But pvp recently has felt off, team balance is skewed and most connections are awful.
