I couldn't agree more with you, I started playing the game (which my vet friend got me into) over 2 months ago and am having a serious issue getting mods.
I have most of the basic ammo finder some dexterity and flinching etc... but I'm having an absolute nightmare trying to get combat style mods to the point they're virtually non existent.
It's extremely frustrating! Everyday I'm at Banshee at 5pm on the dot to see what 2 mods are on offer and it's 95% of the time basic stuff you already own.
It's a real problem that Bungie needs to address sooner rather than especially if they want new players to stay in this game.

Yes. The problem is that new players don’t know much about mods, and those that have most weapon/armor don’t need the mods that Banshee is selling. They need combat mods. Speaking of, Banshee is selling two completely useless mods that nearly everyone that cares about mods has.

Further more if it was your friend that you just got into the game and he was having as much difficulty getting mods like we are causing him to possibly leave the game, you would be singing a completely different tune!
Says the person that has all the mods and isn't experiencing the problems that new players have.
I dont have all the mods. And you know what? It doesnt effect the game in any meaningful way. If a non substantial mod is the reason you wuit the game. You didnt care much about the game as a whole to begin with. And i love how you think this is something new players are raising hell about. Its not. Because most people know these mods are not a huge part of the game.
Wrath of rasputin is a pretty baller mod for PvE. He has yet to sell it.
But its not mandatory for anything. If someone gives up on the game over not having that mod thry eere not very committed or interested in the game. It would be one thing if you needed it for the game. But theres nothing in the game where that mod is must have.

For end game PvE like grandmasters/solo flawless activities etc you will have a much more difficult time without those mods. You don't absolutely need anything for anything in this game so that's not really an argument for why his mods shouldn't just be purchasable from a list.
