Note: I’m not some top tier writer and this isn’t some dissection of the series but just a loose gathering of complaints from a long time player. A: savathun is by far the least interesting antagonist in destiny as a whole. Almost everything we actually know about her is from the books of sorrow which is about oryx and the hives origins. Almost everything involving the hive and taken is attributed to her with no probable cause and fails miserably even if it is her. Her only real success was the time loop in dreaming city but even that’s debatable since nothings stopping us from either learning the location of what their searching for or just capturing and taking her daughter from the city to break the loop. B: uniform factions, so every member of species A works for bad guy #847 unless part of an unnamed group with no unique attire, motive, or leadership that we can identify except the occasional name when most named enemies have like one page of lore that means next to nothing....Seems legit. C: So we’re teaming up with cabal probably? Assuming that’s what’s gonna happen since it seems likely I really hope there’s no convenient cabal faction large enough to serve as random grunts for patrol and events. D: Everything about the moon. Specifically the potential it had for some interesting stories but it gets killed as soon as savathun is brought up. We had a unique conflict in the hive between tradition and progress in the twisted hive way only for Savathun to swoop in and kill all potential for a narrative we could have experienced. Wanna see where that heretic wizard went? Just wait for witch queen I’m sure she’ll either be a random enemy in a mission or a raid boss.
