I played a few QP matches a while ago using the golden gun, an AR, and Polaris Lance.
Got frozen a couple times, but generally beat the stasis players by staying at range.

Just wait until light classes get aspects and fragments. Life will be great. Honestly though, you missed my point: I didn’t need to crutch on abilities to do decently well. I used superior positioning and weaponry to beat the current meta. It really is as simple as staying at range and being the better shot.
Sorry, all out of salt.
Positioning has always been strong in Destiny. But even then you're not engaging with the problem but avoiding it. And if Light gets buffed to be as strong as Stasis while having supers be removed from the game, it's so much powercreep that for me the game would just be not fun anymore.

It’s not avoiding the problem...Stasis, from what I can tell, has been designed as the dominant close-mid range lockdown super. Is it overtuned? I dunno. I just know that in the few matches I played there was no way for a Stasis user to counter me outside of a gunfight. I in turn knew I was screwed if I got close, and I did indeed get burned (or frozen, for that matter) multiple times. Your mileage may vary, I suppose.
Sorry, all out of salt.
Play Striker and then play Behemoth. Play Void Hunter and then play Revenant. The only super that managed to survive from the powercreep was Dawnblade just because it was the best super for skilled play already.

Ghost Riderにより編集済み: 2/16/2021 9:04:42 PMI don’t own Beyond light. I’ll certainly load up Crucible and try to compete with Stasis in close-range combat, but don’t anticipate it ending well. The subclass with area-control and highly tunable abilities will far outperform the BS ‘skill tree’ node clumps of the older subclasses. Again, I’m not saying Stasis is underpowered. It is very strong. I’m saying that it’s by no means as unbeatable as the people here seem to claim. All it takes is brainpower.
Sorry, all out of salt.
Preach. Everyone runs a hand canon and shotgun anyways. Few people have anything that can compete against a good scout. So long as you keep your distance life is surprisingly easy.
Sorry, all out of salt.
A_moにより編集済み: 2/16/2021 5:29:43 PMAnd I'm not trying to be assholish about it either. It just seems so blatantly obvious that people would be playing at range more. And its strange too because back sometime around Y2 or so it was the shotguneers telling everyone to adapt. All this stuff people used to say like "pick your engagements" and "map knowledge" apparently doesn't apply anymore.

It’s true. I mean, I’m a garbage casual. You can look at my stats and history; I’ve only played a few matches over the last couple of months...yet in those games I was able to get decent KD’s with non meta double-primaries and no access to Stasis. Once I saw that Stasis is geared for close combat, I knew it impossible for it to be as bad as everyone seems to claim. They’re so used to mid/close range combat that they really can’t adapt any more. It’s quite funny.
Sorry, all out of salt.
