First, lets look at what is promising - things I’m looking forward to
1. The stroryline sounds cool and sounds as though it will tie up some loose ends from previous seasons
2. New trials armour and weapons
3. Gilded titles
4. That blade barrage finisher looks sick
5. Return of umbral engrams - finally a bit of loot improvement
Now, things which are disappointing
1. Return of old strikes and weapons from d1 eg palindrome - for d1 vets all of this “new” content isn’t new content, its just old content that bungie are using to try and fill the space caused by a huge lack of creativity
2. Another exotic bow that causes splash damage and has a splitting arrow aka solar trinity ghoul
3. Guardian games - my actual reaction to seeing this was “ffs i thought we only just finished that”. Dont get me wrong if they change it completely there is hope for an interesting event, however 99% of events in this game have been mind numbing grinding bounties and boring challenges.
4. That new armour makes every class look like a bishop on a chess board
5. Realistically what’re the chances that another battleground activity is truly fun and not just picking up a ball and dunking it somehow
6. 1 new strike and no change to ritual activities that we have been begging for improvement for for too long
7. Who is actually excited to regrind power... again
1. Return of old strikes and weapons from d1 eg palindrome - for d1 vets all of this “new” content isn’t new content, its just old content that bungie are using to try and fill the space caused by a huge lack of creativity
We also got a new one. The old strikes and weapons are supposed to supplement the core activities. Using those old assets is a good way to fill in the content we lost while they put their main focus on the seasonal content. I mean, they brought back the cosmodrome. Did you expect the old areas to go unused? The weapons themselves are not tied to anything special. You just earn them naturally. They aren't supposed to be a big deal. If they designed original weapons (which they have already for next season) for these core activities, they wouldn't be a big deal either. They will eventually just become commonplace items like a Stars and Shadow dropping in crucible every match.
2. Another exotic bow that causes splash damage and has a splitting arrow aka solar trinity ghoul
Uh what? What's wrong with that? What kind of knitpick is this? It literally tells you "charges multiple Solar arrows that can track several targets at once.” So it will literally be functionally different from Trinity Ghoul.
3. Guardian games - my actual reaction to seeing this was “ffs i thought we only just finished that”. Dont get me wrong if they change it completely there is hope for an interesting event, however 99% of events in this game have been mind numbing grinding bounties and boring challenges.
Probably the only good point here. But when referring to the Guardian Games specifically...I have not played it, so I'm excited to take part.
4. That new armour makes every class look like a bishop on a chess board
That actually sounds cool when you put it that way. But yeah I have no ides what happened to the helmets, but that's about it. The rest is cool. And everyone is talking about the season pass ornaments, but not the real seasonal armor that makes you look like a mongolian warrior. I love it. Still not a reason to hate the season though. Your preferences are not a valid reason for trying to spread dissapointment.
5. Realistically what’re the chances that another battleground activity is truly fun and not just picking up a ball and dunking it somehow
I've personally wanted an activity that revolves around waves of enemies. Battlegrounds literally sounds like a gauntlet.
6. 1 new strike and no change to ritual activities that we have been begging for improvement for for too long
True
7. Who is actually excited to regrind power... again
That's normal. Dunno what you expected, but with transmog, at least our fashion will stay in place.

Everything that's coming out from D1 will be new to me and others that haven't touch D1. So it's cool to have content I never played. Bows? I use them more than any weapon in crucible other than my smgs. It's interesting but, hopefully it's not weak in pve. I don't think I'll invest into this season so quickly, until I see what the overall content will be.

Bungie sunsets Community outraged due to the amount sunset vs new weapons introduced Bungie bring back D1 weapons as NEW to fill the void, as op states. Bungie expets everyone to not notice and be happy And they all lived happily ever after 😊

1. As a D1 Vet I have zero issues with them bringing back old strikes and why complain about old D1 guns getting brought back? Why does it matter if its Palindrome coming back? Would you prefer a hand cannon with the same stats/perks but just a different name? It’s a new weapon to earn in D2 and that’s all that matters. 2. Yes a bow that similar to Trinity Ghoul is a little disappointing but I doubt it’ll still be somewhat different unlike the different elemental Thunderlords back in D1.

Yeah, it didn’t inspire me much. It’s still hard entertaining the idea of enjoying this game when nothing has value. I’m sure people will buy the season, Bungie will keep making these decisions in this fashion because they’re making money, and the game will keep going without me.

We’re getting 2 of the best D1 strikes and one new strike.
2. Another exotic bow that causes splash damage and has a splitting arrow aka solar trinity ghoul
It doesn’t cause splash damage, the arrows track targets.
3. Guardian games - my actual reaction to seeing this was “ffs i thought we only just finished that”.
Guardian games happened a year ago. Next season is changing the bounty system, so we have no idea how that’s going to affect GG.
4. That new armour makes every class look like a bishop on a chess board
The armor is a yikes. At least the other two sets we’ve seen look nice.
5. Realistically what’re the chances that another battleground activity is truly fun and not just picking up a ball and dunking it somehow
We’ll see.
6. 1 new strike and no change to ritual activities that we have been begging for improvement for for too long
They’ve announced a change to the crucible leveling system and they’re adding 2 rituals to each playlist. Strike changes are coming in a future season. We’re getting nightfall adepts this season as well.

2 通の返信I'll never truly understand the community when it comes to old content. Some want it. Some don't. The whole point of the dcv was to be able to bring stuff from D1 back. They want all of destiny to exist with one game and I really don't see the problem with that. Especially since you're not even paying for any of it. Also the bow isn't trinity goul. That's a chain targeting bow. This one fires tracking shots. Just because they both fire multiple arrows doesn't mean they're remotely similar in function. That would be like calling lament an exotic guillotine purely on the fact that both have multi hitting heavy attacks.

4 通の返信We have never gotten a new strike in a season, so I’m rather impressed, and D1 strikes being brought back buffers the strike playlist. They added 10 core weapons in addition to season pass and trials weapons, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about with the “improvement to the core playlist is nonexistent” Argument. I hope the activity is good, but you are probably right.

7 通の返信“1 new strike” not sure if you’re aware or not, but thats actually unusual for a season lmfao. we dont get those kinds of things regularly.
