I agree, the whole event was weird. I mean the first thing I think of when I think romantic evening is getting nice and close to my significant other and then joining them in shooting strangers in the face. I'm pretty sure 99% of the Destiny population was ignoring the premise behind Crimson Days and just playing it for the rewards. It was really one of the most nonsensical things ever put into the game.
