Since the dreaming city is returning in season 13 I figured it was time to revisit an old exotic. Oathkeeper, the supposed bow support exotic that falls flat as a support exotic. My proposed buff would be to add an additional intrinsic to the oathkeeper to put it in line with other weapon support exotics like ophidian aspect, peacekeepers, year 1 lucky pants, etc. This additional intrinsic would be increased bow reload speed and handling. This small change would make a world of difference in terms of making oathkeeper the premium exotic bow support and worthy of your exotic slot as opposed to running only stompees, wormhusk, or bakris like I see most people using. Edit 1/29/21: Some users have suggested maybe granting archer's tempo on all combat bows. What do you think to this change? Would a hybridization be too overkill where oathkeeper granted both archer's tempo and rapid hit? That way you would have to earn your buffs mid-fight rather than constant neutral game buff. If you believe it would be perfectly acceptable would increased handling on top be too much? Edit: 1/29/21: While any suggestions other than my own are welcomed, please do keep in mind that oathkeeper significantly affecting draw time is not an intrinsic suggestion that's acceptable without breaking the game. To have an entire weapon category's optimal ttk to be locked behind a class isn't good for the health of the game and will never be welcomed by Bungie. To give a good example, imagine a titan arms exotic that made 360 rpm autorifles fire at 720rpm while keeping the original damage. It makes autos the optimal meta and only titans can use them. Doing this makes it so that anyone wanting to go into pvp would have to switch to a titan. Thank you for your understanding when commenting on any further suggestions for an oathkeeper buff. Edit: 1/31/21: Someone from a previous thread suggested that oathkeeper should allow sprinting with a charged bow, that way you would be able to slide with a bow to start an engagement. Thoughts? Edit: 2/2/21: With the new season pass coming with an exotic bow, this just strengthen my resolve in asking for oathkeeper to become the premium bow support with my proposed changes.
