Reissuing weapons is a tacit admission of failure
How about instead of selecting threadbare weapons from older content you admit that sunsetting is fundamentally just a bad design decision? You are backsliding to a conclusion your player base has been unsubtly shouting at you for the past year.

9 通の返信No. It was an acknowledgment of the player complaint about 2 expansions that they are still charging money for aren’t dropping any relevant loot. Bungie is not backing down on sunsetting and have no reason why they should. Player numbers are stable, and the franchise is doing so well that they are hiring in the middle of a terrible economy.

While at the same time trying to stay some what faithful to their own goals. Community: Why'd you take this stuff away? We still gotta pay for it. Bungie: Ah shoot. You right. Let me just put it back in, and add some more value to it so you're not just grinding the same guns again. Community: Not like that! We just wanted to use the guns we already had. We don't want to play the game more.

5 通の返信Back sliding? We all knew they would reissue weapons. I was a bit surprised we didn’t get any reissued this season, but I had no doubt we’d see some next season. Even getting some new (to the weapon) perks isn’t all that surprising. Now putting those perks exclusively in the Dungeons is surprising. I kind of like that. Depending on what perks they are it could get me to play those dungeons again.

Not really. They’ve been reissuing things for most of Destiny’s lifespan as a franchise, whether sunsetting was in play or not. Them continuing with a trend is just that: a continuation of a trend, not some poorly veiled way to admit defeat.

Originally I was worried about but agreed with the idea of sunsetting, but now, experiencing it in practice, it's the worst way to do it possible. They sunset 80%+ of literally everything. At least they admitted they didn't make enough new loot to replace it, but how could no one have thought or noticed how much they were sunsetting at once? And don't even get me started on armor. That should never have been touched.
