I usually don’t comment but today I will:
From a corporate stand point, sticking with your decisions and holding on to those said decisions once made is admirable and in most places just good business strategy.
It also shows a tremendous amount of company character to admit fault and to rework massive misjudged decisions based on feedback from your customer.
Take Cyberpunk for example- they launched a half baked game and could have ran for the hills with the issues they had. They put out a real apology video and showed a real map of change to set things right. Does it make what they did right? No. But it’s a first step to make amends and shows what they are made of.
I get there is always more to any story and I am truly unsure of all the finite details of this decision.
I do understand what Bungie was trying to do-
It’s time to step up to the plate, hold strong to the company values that made Bungie and show your fans/community/the world what you’re really made of.
Sun setting was not the answer..
But it certainly doesn’t have to be the final conclusion to the story. Thank you.
