so it’s late, can’t sleep, and i’m reading back over some of my favorite lore books...
i’m reading uldren’s story “the forsaken prince”
i get to the one called “docking”
and it says:
Uldren sees now that extinction is only the beginning: that the bones of what you become can act more powerfully than the flesh of what you leave behind.
there’s a voice line during one of the wrathborn hunts on the tangled shore where crow says he remembers a saying he once heard
AND ITS THE SAME QUOTE
HE. REMEMBERS. THE QUOTE.
what could this mean???

1 返信JM-TheChosen1により編集済み: 1/10/2021 3:54:27 AMCrow . . . Hunter . . . Stasis . . . Ninja . . . Itachi . . . Crow Emote . . . GENJUTSU CONFIRMED. He remembers? He must be lying about not remembering anything and is now performing ANBU Level Espionage on us all. The emote gave it away. Somebody is lying hard.

6 通の返信Honestly the big thing for me since this Crow stuff started is that I don't trust Spider. He doesn't do anything unless it benefits himself, so what exactly is the benefit to him having a guardian on a leash? Could Spider be planning something bad for us using the memory lacking Crow?

My guess is that Spider will use Crow to get an Ahamkara bone to wish ALL our gear and abilities into a permanent Sunsetting leaving us to sit around and -blam!- slap each other in PvP, Whiners will finally get 'their' wish, the ultimate nerf to everything! For Spider? Well now he does not have to worry about Guardians ruining his plundering as we won't be able to stop him. But yeah it's really all about the nerf everything whiners!

13 通の返信That’s cool, nice find. Here’s my reasoning, though it’s mostly just speculation: Risen do have some lingering bits of memory, never anything they can make sense of. Usually Exos have more lingering memory, but it’s still an insignificant amount. It’s one of the main things Thanatonaughts try to study. Vaguely remembering something said in your past life fits in pretty nicely with this stuff, so I’m guessing that Uldren recalling it isn’t too unusual. That quote was originally a reference to the Ahamkara, a hint that he was being manipulated by Riven though he didn’t realize it. Because it was tied to Riven’s manipulation it makes sense that it would stick more than other quotes. Ahamkara sure are stubborn about sticking around lol And since Uldren is one of the original Awoken I’d assume his connection to Light and Dark might have some interesting side effects.

2 通の返信Tommy MFJにより編集済み: 1/9/2021 12:51:57 AMThere's been a lot of implications, especially within the clues of the hawkmoon quest, that hint towards Uldren retaining some memories of his former self. This is possibly due to how quickly he got resurrected after his death. However, for the most part, we know he had a memory reset seeing as he has no clue of who he was. Great find nonetheless

1 返信Even if he remembered who he was, he's pretty much had a personality wipe. You don't just flip on a dial back to bad man. If anything, it's necessary in his overall redemption to remember himself/know who Uldren was and decide to be better this time around, especially with the kindness we've shown.

2 通の返信I’m curious as to why Crow is beginning to remember his past. How? Why? He even remembers what he did to Cayde! He just doesn’t know we were the ones who killed him. Hope he doesn’t find that out...I’d actually hate to kill him again. I like his character arc. Probably one of the best arcs in the game.

1 返信Zavala retained characteristics after being risen and Ana assumes her old identity. Very interesting
