I met a new player and decided to help him out. This is some 3rd grader. We did the new light missions then I took him I to private matches because we were going to go into control for the new light quest from shaxx. I tried to see what I can do to improve his aim, teach him about awareness, what job each type of weapon has and how they are used, ect.
We then decided to go into control after 2 private matches. Out of all 3 matches, he got aggressively tbagged each one. And on the 3rd on, he got a message along the lines of "you cant even play the game. That's why in bagging. Just uninstall". What. The. F***. I don't have words to describe how pissed I was.
What the f*** is wrong with this community🤦♂️
This all around is just completely messed up. I feel bad for the kid. He was actually having fun with the game. I'm disappointed in this community. We have stooped so low to a point I didnt think we could get to. This is not how new players should be treated. In fact, this ain't how people in general should be treated. How is this acceptable?
Edit: Forgot to mention this because I just went to bed after writing this but I had already informed him about crucible not really being fun and it being toxic. When he did get bagged, he told me he was going to bag them back and I said not to. I told him to not stoop to their level. He then told me to go 1v1 them and I said no because I'm not going to that far and waste my time on some bozo with an ego. I never really do 1v1s in the first place because I find it a waste of time unless its with my buddy's for funsies and we do stupid stuff or I'm trying to help a new player like that kid.
I already had him block the one who messaged him and told him to ignore people like that because they may feel good about themselves. But in reality, they are making themselves look extreamly stupid and that they have the mental capacity of a zucchini. The kid didnt seem bothered much and was ignoring it which is good, but I can't stand by and let that s*** slide. Especially if I'm the one helping him. Because it's still messed up no matter how you look at it.
Edit 2: Some of you are missing the point. Yes, the kid is a 3rd grader. No, I'm not his parent. I didnt give him the ok to play a game at the age he isnt supposed to. And if I had a kid, I most likely wouldn't let them play the game at his age either in the first place, or at least without my supervision. But its 2020 and heading into 2021, people are -blam!-. I'm not angry at the fact that he is a kid experiencing this. I'm angry that new players in general are being treated in a similar manner. I've seen a good chunk of new players on the forums and in the game getting treated like garbage. That's why I'm writing about this.

While annoying, you needed to be around for the halo 2 days in 2004. There are toxic players no matter where you go, but things have surely calmed down. Bungie themselves treat the new players like shit by not having sbmm in control.

You talk as though the whole community treats new players as garbage. It doesn’t. I don’t. We were all new players once and only those who truly believe that a video game and their ‘success’ in it, is worthy of stroking their own ego with, look down on others. It’s a game. It’s not real life. People should stop getting to agitated about it.

2 通の返信Ricochet 049により編集済み: 1/1/2021 1:48:20 AMIt’s the same everywhere and in everything. I’ve traveled the world and I’ve seen it. I’ve also been playing games for over 20 years now, this is mild. Now before one of you makes the accusation. I am not saying that it’s okay or good. The goal to be kind is all well and good, but not everyone has the same goals, and if your goal is to have any merit, it has to be tough enough to survive.

1 返信This community is a microcosm of society as a whole. Yes there are good people, but there are also many who will go out of their way to harass, denigrate, and hurt people for nothing more than mere fleeting moments of entertainment or catharsis. Video games, especially ones with PVP attract these people, like they attract other types of people. It is unavoidable unless you avoid playing with or against random people. It does not excuse the messages though. Now, all that being said, I think people take T-bagging too seriously sometimes. Get offended too quickly. I’m not immune to it either. But I’ve played video games long enough to know that many times it is meant with all the good fun as a loud “in your face!”. Or on the other side, “get up to my level”. Not always. But often it isn’t done to say “sell your game and jump off a bridge”. The guy going 40-3 could get T-bagged because “I finally got you”. So I’ll just say that often it is up to us how upset and offended we get at a little bagging.

This is how it has been literally its whole existence. It sucks, I agree, but let’s not pretend it’s new or Destiny related.

The community has become extremely toxic in the past few years. I have no idea why, but I think it probably has to do with most of the casual players leaving the game, which leaves the no-life players to be the majority of players.

Because destiny players are A-Holes plain and simple. Fear not CoD players are just as bad but it's the tough guy over the internet routine. The ONLY way to enjoy the game is to find a good clan and play with a select team that fits your personality. I met some cool people and we play alot and talk trash to each other. It's all in good fun and we get to laugh and joke around so it makes it better.

It's every game community. Gamers are a-holes by nature. You have some of the biggest losers in society in gaming, and their goal is to piss off and insult as many fellow gamers as they can. This is why I prefer solo games. When I'm forced to play multiplayer in games like Destiny, I usually go where I don't need a mic. I don't need to hear low IQ racists and punks yelling in my ear.

XxSkyStrikerxxXにより編集済み: 1/1/2021 5:38:26 AMI'm glad there are still people like you. I was playing trials the other day and my buds bagged for no reason and they said "well they're just bad" but everytime we get bagged, they get super tilted and confused. I've learned my lesson ages ago. And some people need to grow up. Your awesome dude. Keep doing what your doing!

The Destiny community is the worst when it gets salty.. The vast majority are decent folk playing pew pew space magic hooha, but the salts are f**kin vile.. I once got a "KYS" message during a Gambit game. And not 2 days ago, some sad excuse "reported" me over a teamwipe in a NF, then continued to send nasty messages AFTER he left the strike.. When they're bad, they are the very worst of gaming. A vile, bitter, angry collection of sad losers foaming at the mouth over a game 🙄

OBI-SWEDE KENOBIにより編集済み: 1/1/2021 11:12:45 AMT-bagging is an essential and important part of this games culture and tradition. It must be respected and followed. Balls in all is a fundamental and important part of this game: warmind cells balls, orbs of light balls, nova bomb balls, snow balls in tower, guardian balls etc.

PVP tends to attract the most toxic players, so I’m not surprised at that particular outcome. Disappointed, maybe. But not surprised. I’d like to think the PVE side of the game is slightly more civilised ( and then I remember all the LFG horror stories ). I’m glad I’m a solo player.

I'm not a new player. But I get this treatment in the crucible a lot because of the campy play style I have to do too even play. I have nerve damage in my hand and after I got covid, it damaged my left eye. But in reality, it honestly messed with my eyesight in general. I usually get messages that are just, whew buddy.. Last one was just the other day and I told the dude I can't help it because of ^^^ and said it's hard for me to even hold my controller at the moment etc etc.. Dude responded with some choice words. Even though I'm 26, not a kid in the 3rd grade. I feel for new players because it feels like Im re-learning how to play this game almost every day and get backlash from the toxic community to boot. It's pretty disheartening.
