Just not having fun like I used to.
The content has always been boring, but once upon a time we had enough loot to pursue that I didn’t think about how boring the content was. I simply put up with the boring content in order to get the loot. But since all of the “bad perks” were removed at the beginning of D2, and loot became incredibly easy to obtain, I’ve found that there is very little grind (at least not the grind I enjoy). I enjoy targeted loot (strike specific loot is the best example) that has a chance to drop from one particular enemy. I do not enjoy farming tokens or materials to turn in to a vendor. I want every boss in the game to have loot specific to them so I have an actual reason to play all activities.
The content is just not fun, but I feel that this would be a difficult and unlikely thing to get a change. The Destiny gameplay style is set in stone. It’s like playing Halo missions over and over. I have never enjoyed that. I play campaign missions once, then I’m done. The loot is what gets me to play the content. The raids are a different story altogether, I do enjoy a good amount of the mechanics and they are all generally interesting and imaginative. The same cannot be said for 99% of the rest of the content. No clue how to fix this. Ball’s in your court bungie.
The pvp in this game is simply not my style. I can live with the call of duty/halo/csgo “condensed map” style of pvp, but when every game mode is basically “team deathmatch”, that’s where you lose me. I understand I’m probably the minority on this, but I am so bored of team deathmatch. There are no stakes and I feel like I have nothing to lose every match. The only game modes I enjoy in this style of pvp are capture the flag, griffball, infected, and a few other objective game modes. But the pvp style I enjoy the most is the style in The Division (Darkzone) and Elder scrolls online (open world pvp). I also prefer the apex legends and Fortnite “battle royale” pvp style over the halo/CoD style. Most people complain about cheaters, connections, matchmaking, and weapon/class imbalance. For me personally, I can’t bring myself to complain about any of those things when I can’t even enjoy the game modes I’m playing.
The seasonal content is just pitiful. It’s obvious that the work force at bungie is incapable of balancing all of the duties in order to pump out enough meaningful content to make the game fun. I’m of the mindset that the seasonal model should just be scrapped at this point. We have a lot of drip fed boring content every year, but when all the content you create is boring, maybe it’s time to just focus on the content that matters: the fall DLC. And please for the love of god, ditch the artifact “power levels”. It’s killing my desire to grind to the pinnacle cap. I don’t care about grand master content. It’s boring and pointless when I don’t actually need a fully optimized build for each class to beat the content in the game.
I’m just so burnt out on destiny that I groan any time I see it in my library. I keep logging in every once in a while to make sure I’m all caught up and I don’t miss any loot that will be useful if the game happens to improve at some point, but I have basically no desire to play at this point.

172 通の返信TheArtistにより編集済み: 12/29/2020 1:23:07 PMThe interesting thing is that both I----and a Destiny streamer who shall not be named here----went on independant rants about the game yesterday. Oddly, we reached the same conclusion as to what the problem was. 1. We've talked about this before, and the lack of loot this season is hitting loot-motivated players like yourself hard. Without sufficient loot to chase, the fundamental repetitiveness of the game's basic play loop is laid bare. A loop that many such players don't enjoy when there isn't the dopamie hit that comes from getting desirable loot. 2. CONTROL. Bungie has this OBSESSIVE need to micromanage play in such a way eliminates any ability for the player to interact with the game in any what that is freeing or creative. I was ranting about the Hive Wizard Warthborn Hunt boss, and how sick-and-tired I am of how rigidly scripted that fight is. Sick of how often you get OHK'd by that boss when you deviate from that script. The streamer was ranting about how many fo the game's activities are forcing you into the very tedious and very rigidly defined play loops. He made the analogy of trying to play with a child...and then having that child tell you what to do at every step of the way. THAT is when it clicked with me that our respective rants were pointing to the same fundamental problem that has ALWAYS plagued Bungie's approach to content creation....and is starting to burnout people. Bungie has become SO controlling that people aren't feeling free to simply PLAY anymore....and Bounties...and how Bungie is structuring content is the problem. Its not enough to just play the game. Its Go play strikes.....then got get 25 kills with a grenade. Then get 10 kills with a sniper rifle. Oh while youre at it get 10 kills with a bow....and those 25 kills with an auto rifle for the Gunsmith....and 15 kills with a sword for The Crow. ...and for what? Most of this activity doesn't even REWARD the player with anything tangible. At worst you just get exp for jumping through all of these hoops. At best you just get currency and upgrade materials. Even when you are doing something that rewards looot....like the Wrathborn or Empire Hunts...its only have Bungie INSISTS on routign you through VERY SPECIFIC parts of the game that you may not want to play....and many fo the fights are very scripted and obnoxiously punishing when you start ramping upthe difficulty. I have found mysefl playing less and less this season, and our rants finally allowed WHY I've been less and less motivated to play to become clear: I'm tired of being told how to play. I'm tired of my options for play being micromanaged and restricted. I'm tired of feeling like Bungie is constantly leading me around by the NOSE, and demanding that I play their game THEIR way. Rather than the way that I want to play. Constantly insisting that I play ALL of the game ALL of the time....instead of the part of the game that I'm currently enjoying at the moment. Its like trying to play with a child who doesn't want to play with you....but instead wants to USE you as a set of hands to help them do what they want to do. It quickly stops being enjoyable.

1 返信I’ve become much more casual with Destiny over the past month because I’ve realized trying to do anything in the game for any reason will be negated or end up as a handout later on. Nothing has value and it’s depressing.

It’s sad Shadowleep gave us more to play SMH. Rewards feel pointless, and the game modes are repetitive because they scrapped 90% of the game, I miss Crown of Sorrow, I miss all of the Black Armory, I miss cool gambit armor, I miss the Sundial, I miss Recluse and Midnight Coup. Bungie scrapped the good content and shoved garbage down our throats for a premium .

1 返信I agree whole heartedly. For me I was bored very, very early in Beyond Light and after 2 weeks I'd pretty much had enough. So I got into Cyberpunk and have loved the 2 weeks, and then instead of Destiny (I let the kids use the account now) I fired up Div 2 and had a blast - even though I'm not chasing gear and use the same guns for the past year basically, it's enjoyable to play as there are activities and missions that are actually challenging. I used to have that feeling in Destiny esp. During Forsaken year, I would log on to play Black Armoury each week chasing the perfect rolls, or running Reckoning for the same reason, or The Well etc. Basically there were plenty of things to do each week for a reason and for fun. Now there is absolutely nothing that beckons me to log on to play, and the future of the game for me looks grim.

1 返信I 100% agree. I keep trying crucible, but stasis has killed it for me. It has turned into a Supers frozen Cluster duck from all sides. I wish they could make some crucible matches that had had stasis disabled at least. Then all the skill less jotuunn wielding sweet business hacks that camp out by the power ammo could have their fun, while everyone else who wants to improve their shooting skills can do it without having 6 frozen grenades thrown every time you spawn in. If I wanted to play Mayhem all the time, then I would load into that. Unfortunately all of Crucible is now Mayhem and I don't see a end to it as Bungie will rarely fix the problem, just create new ones that make you wish you had the last problem back. Hopefully this makes it past the code of conduct... it keeps deleting my post...lol

1 返信I think the best way to describe this game is like being that mythical figure Sisyphus who had to spend eternity rolling the big rock up the mountain only to have it roll back down when he got near the top. That's what this game is. You're on the damn mountain every day and it never changes. You grind to get near the top and poof, they take your light, your weapons, your armor...and the rock rolls back down hill. It might not be so bad if you can get off the mountain, but you're stuck on it. The scenery changes occasionally, but its only the seasons, no pun intended. Dirt in the fall, green in the summer, snow white in winter, but its the same damn mountain, and you're on it every day doing the same damn thing over, and over, and over, and the worse thing about it is that all the while you're doing it you know that rock is going to roll back to the bottom. It basically distracts you with shiny objects, but once the objects lose their shine all you see is the mountain and nothing beyond. Eventually the mountain is all you see, that and the damn rock.

1 返信This is THE best post I've seen in these forums. 100% agree with every word of this. It's just... Not fun anymore. I logged in today, ran a 1220 ordeal, realized it was the most unfun thing I've done in weeks and logged out. PvP doesn't even warrant discussion. It's so bad I've almost quit gaming altogether, I'm so disappointed. And my crew and I have been DIEHARD players. We played through CoO. We played through Warmind. We did all the godforsaken Rasputin towers. But now... This is just unforgivable.

2 通の返信Destiny can feel like a chore if you're putting time into only destiny. Play some other games every so often also and it feels fun again for a lil bit

1 返信Take a break mate. The way to enjoy this game now is skip a season or two, soo you have new things to chase when you come back.

3 通の返信Clearing DSC over 20 times, watching everybody else get Eyes, getting 5 pairs of 1260 boots, while having a 1258 helmet for the last 3 weeks, these things make me upset. The shooting is fun, the gameplay is fun. RNG and lack of fullfilling activities is the what is ruining the experience for me. I don't play PVP, but seems that is horrible too. Only thing left seems if to try GMs, and that gets frustrating too a lot of the time.

Bacardiman08により編集済み: 12/31/2020 6:24:15 AMWell written. Keep in mind. Bungie doesn't care about you, how you feel, or respect you. They only care about the almighty dollar. Stop giving them your Money and they will fix their shit. Simple as that. A company, Bungie, who thrives on how much coinage they can extract from you, will change, but only when you starve them of what they want most. Remember when D2 Launched and it was a sweet Fuk-all...everyone quit playing. Bungie fixed their shit then, they had financial motivation to. Now, why would they? People are spending money with them. I personally will not be spending anymore money with them. Will I play? Not as much as I have in the past. I have over 3K hrs in the game, but it's no longer worth my time or my money. They have to earn that back. 1. They want your $$$ 2. They want your time-Why else would they have you spending 10 minutes traveling from one part of Europa to the opposite end just to get 1/5th progress for 1 part of a 10 part quest? It's a chore, Don't you love chores?

5 通の返信Yeah man I got sick of the garbage MMO bs and all these quests with no reward. Destiny was perfect during the TTK and RoI but D2 is horseshit. Sad because i use to love and play this game a lot (gameplay is still fun) but the game is too much a mess and the developers are lazy as hell or incompetent to actually pull something good off.
