I honestly find cores harder to come by then the prisms for some weird reason. I started (a little bit ago) doing a lot of hero empire hunts just to farm for cores but next week gonna be some legit farming happening with double loot nightfalls and quadruple rewards for platinum on the weekend

You can easily get Prisms from Nightfalls or Empire Hunts, even on Hero difficulty

That's a good idea. Maybe a different weapon bounty for something a bit more complex than simply killing targets anywhere. Something like Multikills or precision kills depending on the weapon in specific activities that rotates weekly.
