Crucible is in one of its worst states ive even seen

The only time crucible has been arguable more un-fun in my opinion is late year one right before forsaken. Stasis is absolutely ruining crucible. 120’s are way too strong. Is there actually a crucible team? Because if there is, they need a new one. I want Luke to just come out and say that they don’t give a shit about crucible so I can move on. There is absolutely no possible way that stasis was tested to any extent inside of crucible. If it was, they would have instantly pumped the brakes and fixed the plethora of problems with it. Even time you get frozen you are dead. There is no way around it. Most stasis abilities are a one hit due to freezing. If things like handheld supernova were op (which it was) then stasis is in another galaxy. There is no comparison Another talking point of crucible this season is the matchmaking. The team balancing this season in particular has been absolutely atrocious. Mercy after mercy after mercy. Either I mercy the other team or they mercy me almost every game. And connection based matchmaking? Yea sure. In almost every game there is at least one player lagging. If it was my internet that was putting me in bad connection lobbies, then most players in the lobby would be lagging and damage would most likely be delayed. One player rubber banding has nothing to do with my internet. Crucible needs some serious attention and it cannot wait any longer. Crucible has been set aside for too long now

  • Folks will mention that it's the most balanced weapons have ever been. That's as maybe. If you get chance to use the feckers efficiently! Frozen, slowed or suffering the consequences of the host's Intel Celeron dealing with 10 billion Glacier grenade fragments per minute etc etc Slight exaggeration there, but pff

    • This is intentional. They did it to sell more copies of Beyond Light, and it's THE main reason I left the game indefinitely. Had a bad game of comp, and kept getting repeatedly frozen. I said ya know what.... F this. I am not going to wait for them to tune this. Deleted all of my characters and vault, haven't played since (over a month). I slogged patiently through the disaster that was Year 3, knowing the company was just milking the game for all it's worth. Played a bit of Beyond Light, tried to ignore the horrors of armor sunsetting, and slim loot pools, half the game being evaporated, and the rest being rendered useless by sunsetting. But yeah, crucible stasis was the straw that broke the camels back for me.

Crucible has been set aside for too long now[/quote] These posts happen every season all season for one of two reasons: 1) A player doesn’t actually like D2 PvP and they want to make it something it isn’t to suit there preference instead of finding a game that does. 2) A player is delusional and believes that if only they would “balance” it to their personal preference they would perform better. If you can’t rise to the occasion in the current sandbox you won’t in any sandbox. Connections are an actual issue, but if anyone hasn’t figured it out yet: D2 crucible is casual.

            Stasis is the only reason why the Crucible is a negative experience. The dive damage is completely bonkers, and the can't move because of freezing has to go.

                • That’s because Bungie is still trying to run a Broken Team balancing algorithm. It practically pairs ppl up by Elo. (Bungie says they use “TrueSkill”) But Elo will suffice as you can see them run almost parallel on DTR. So the higher Elo you have the shitter teammates you’ll get. But there’s a catch. The algorithm is said to go as follows. The Best player(1)(Team A)gets players 1,3,5,7,9,11 The Second best(TeamB)(no matter how big the gap from 1 is) Gets 2,4,6,8,10,12 So by those numbers Team A will always have the advantage. They Always have the better players. Team B is practically doomed from the get go. The second best player could be a whole 1.0 below the best player.. doesn’t matter. Team B is getting the worse of the leftovers. Not only could he be miles worse than the best. He’s going to get the worst player in that lobby. Elo wise. There is no true CBMM in this game. Team balancing lobbying is by Definition Skill Based.

                  • Its so close to being good. The weapon meta right now is fantastic. All they need to do is tune stasis and crucible will be in one of the best states it has been in, but because of how oppressive stasis is it is really bad right now. The thing is people don't want it nerfed. You lay out a coherent argument about why Whisper of Fissures with either shatter ability is one of the most ridiculous abilities the game has ever had and people will just call you a crybaby, nerfherder etc. You show a clip of dying from full health to a shatterdibe combo that happened 15m away from you and it just doesn't matter. People just say "you need to learn to counter" etc. You can't counter the behemoth super with its aoe abilities, by far highest armour of any roaming super, and brain dead duration. You can't counter the desyncing that happens when someone shatterslides quickly and overloads the engine faster than the animation can keep up. You can't counter a hunter throwing a glacier at the ground and shatterdiving, killing you from 15m away.

                    • I think the sandbox right now is the best its ever been. Stasis isn't much of a problem in 6v6 as it is in 3v3 gamemodes such as elim, trials, and comp, all of which no one plays. The only people who play comp are the sweaty tryhards who cry about having to go against people at their "skill." The only people who play trials are the streamers, cheaters, and the people doing recovs and carries. Elim is just boring. Every weapon in this sandbox has a chance except maybe most bows and all submachine guns that aren't 600 rpm. 140s have a lower ttk than 120s but 120s have more range. Makes sense. Sunshot has the fastest ttk of the hand cannons with no damage boosting perks involved, but it's harder to aim with. Pulse rifles are a lot stronger than people think. But theyre not op. Auto rifles are still viable. They're one of the easiest primaries to use in the game, and still have the same ttk as a 140 hc (600rpm). The other auto rifle archetypes aren't too good. Trace rifles still suck because of their ammo economy and theyre harder to use than auto rifles. Shotguns are broken because of how the maps are made and how fast we can move. Snipers still flinch to the head for some reason. Fusion rifles do what theyre meant to do which is be that mid range special weapon and everyone still cries about them all the time. All in all, this sandbox is not balanced but it's the best it's been in forever. Last season's sandbox was one of the worst ones destiny 2's ever had.

                      • 120’s way too strong? What are you talking about? There are pulse rifles too that can 2 tap already since previous season. Just look up base stats on weapons and ttk. There are more weapons with a similar ttk. What is making the difference is the perks and mods on armor giving major boosts on damage. Stasis you are right. Stasis is ruining PvP fights. The abilities and grenades that slow and freeze disable the other player to fight back.

                        • 6 v 6 I will agree it isn’t fun but 3 v 3 comp i really enjoy. I don’t play trials so no idea about that.

                        • I like it currently. Stasis doesn't bother me, I agree it's garbage but it doesn't break the game for me. I treat quick play as a joke now. Run around, muck about with different guns and forget about winning or losing. I think freelance competitive is a superb addition.

                        • It's pretty bad when the solo queue in Iron Banana is 10 times better than any other matchmaking. Just put freelance in everything and change control to clash already!!!

                          Lobby balancing is my biggest complaint. I really don’t mind losing in quick play but after the 10th game in a row of having 3 or more teammates drop a .3 KAD it starts getting old. You can’t even chase high kill games anymore because every damn match ends in some sort of mercy. There is very little incentive to play crucible as it is. Add this shit on top of everything and I’m finally about over it. Also wtf is with connections lately???!! Cbmm btw.

                            I finally figured out why I’m struggling to enjoy crucible this season. It’s a problem I never noticed until my skill increased to allow me to have a positive K/D. My problem in crucible is that you don’t matter. U can have a “we run out of metals” or have a 50 kill game. With a 10.0 KD. U urself will do well but despite how good u do u will still loose. Individuals don’t matter in destiny. Nothing feels worse than playing the best u ever have, absolutely slaying only for it to not matter because 3+ team mates got a 0.3 or worse with 20+ deaths. In destiny ur personal skill has little outcome on a game vs. the skill of ur whole team. To which u have to start asking urself, why even try when 8/10 it won’t matter.

                                • Sandbox wise this is the best it's been in a while. I'd pick fighting 120s with a 1 second ttk. Then a .7 ttk laser beam of death from 40 meters.

                                  • Outside of the flinch and the sniper range. 120s are fine. They can be a more forgiving handcannon. Plus 90+ a head is still going to mess anyone up.

                                    some freezing ability still freezing fo 3/4 seconds, they should all freeze for 1.35, supers should freeze for 2 seconds , the titan/hunter combo need a delay for activate that combo , they have to remove scavenger ,all guns need the sniper AA nerf, primary are balanced, some of them need a little buff
