It's all there in the title. Rockets do lackluster burst damage for a heavy weapon. Swords and grenade launchers do a much better job at handling bosses than rockets ever will in their current state.
But you might say I could use RL's for crowd control, the problem with that is that GL's and LMG's do a much better job at crowd control than RL's ever will (with the Eot and Wardcliff being exceptions).
The only place that RL's are remotely useful in is PvP, I also have a god roll Subzero Salvo with chain reaction and ambitious assassin. Atm rocket launchers are only good for one thing and that's completing bounties. They shouldn't be restricted to trash mob weapons because we already have GL's, LMG's, Auto rifles, SMG's and basically every primary in the game except for Scout Rifles.
We need good damage dealing heavy weapons besides GL's and Swords because they are the only obvious options we have. It's okay to give RL's a buff in general without fearing they could turn into Gjallarhorn the next moment.
Atm like I said said before there is absolutely no reason to choose something like a RL over Swords and GL's for damage because you are to scared to buff them Bungie. It's been years since RL's have even been remotely viable, give them some love.

2 in the mag would probably be sufficient enough of a buff, but I worry they would just replace grenade launchers...but what else could they do? They either get buffed a shit ton so their burst damage is really high but slow overall due to 1 in the mag and risk still being redundant, or they give them two rockets and replace everything but swords. I think some more fine tuning should be done to them...I'm not entirely sure as to what though. Maybe make some rockets with 2 in the mag that do average damage, then have some with 1 in the mag but really high damage? Maybe the built in tracking ones can have 2 in the mag due to their significantly lower blast radius stat?

I don’t know. Still love my Pyroclastic Flow with ambitious assassin and cluster bombs. Intrinsic tracking. Best I got. But yes, swords are infinitely more powerful, and although I’m taking advantage of that, I still love rockets and wish they were better.

2 通の返信Here’s a thought: Take them for [i]fun[/i]. Who freaking cares if a sword or grenade launcher is better? If you [i]want[/i] to play with a rocket launcher, [i]take[/i] a rocket launcher. It’s still a heavy weapon, you can use it in all normal strikes, patrols, Crucible, and Gambit whole doing just fine. If your notion of fun is melting the boss, take the meta. If not, build a cool and thematic Guardian that plays how you want. Skill is the ultimate arbiter of success anyways. [spoiler]Sorry, all out of salt.[/spoiler]

IMHO... one of the biggest issues is the fact that except for The Truth, it's all single shot and a 5 min reload animation. For that reason, if I'm using rockets, it's Truth only. Bring back 2 in the tube as standard with perks like three in the tube, clown cartridge (I think I may have seen this now?), Horse Shoes and Hand Grenades etc... and make cluster bombs actually do some real damage, maybe then rocket launchers would be worth using. As it stands now Destiny 1 had way better RL options.

I joined Destiny 1 cause I Found the Soulsteal Claw. 900 RPM with a 60 clip Magazine, and I got three Stability Perks, (I always wished for a better scope,) that was my baby, why??? It felt like an Sig MCX, WHICH is my COD weapon of Choice. With a skilled Hand I can use it at long distances, but I also due to the RPM and magazine can clear a BUILDING up close without having to worry about my tracing of bullets AROUND a person, (Since barrel length comes into play with range, and Manuevering in tight corners.) I joined Destiny for the Realism, combined with Pseudo God Like Powers from the Traveler, where if a grenade goes off in a Small room, everyone is deaddly, it's not just the beautiful explosion, it's the invisible concussion wave that throws ur kidneys, ur liver, against ur stomach, ur lungs against ur ribs, and brain against the skull. This game is weak, and the any Destiny 1 fan would be in agreement. Fyi, Grenades should do 75%-%100 damage if you have low-medium resilience. A Grenade moves our organs more than it moves the body, that's where internal injuries come from and why grenades are so deadly

Trying to get that Europa RL with Chain Reaction and Assassin. Chain reaction on that GL from the lures is amazing. Instopped missing Loaded Question. Now I just need to get that RL from Europa. Yeah, RL stink but Assassin perk makes them a bit better.
