Its almost definitely your controller. PS4 controllers are garbage. There are ways on youtube you can squeeze some extra life out of them by taking them apart lubricating something then putting them back together. Make sure if you look at them you find one where the person actually shows themselves unplugging the battery because I ripped the whole harness thing off of the circuit board trying to unplug it. Luckily I had several more broken PS4 trash controllers that I could use parts from.
