I’m on an Xbox One X, roughly 15 hours in, for reference.
First the bugs...
•It’s forced my console to turn off once (like what some games have been doing to the PS5 and Series X/S for whatever reason)
•It’s dashboarded twice
•the lighting is buggy af
•enemies have clipped through walls/floors
•random objects have decided to float (Keanu’s cigarette in a particularly funny instance)
•certain textures will just appear when they feel like it, I have had no hands on multiple occasions, the floor can be buggy especially outside with puddles etc, and several times I’ve removed or added clothing with no effect on the model (I unequipped some trousers once and the effect was to basically undo my fly and just let ‘little V’ flop out, probably should have kept it like that tbh it would have been pretty funny playing the whole game with the little chap getting in on the action)
•frame rate will just tank for no reason , especially when driving
•arguably the most annoying bug though was when it decided to play an enemy’s ‘just been alerted of my presence’ dialogue on repeat until I killed him, which ended up being about 30 minutes later because I was trying to be as stealthy as possible.
But dyknow what?
I still think it’s one of the best games I’ve played in a while.
It autosaves pretty darn regularly, so each time the game decided to shit the bed I had a save within about a minute of the issue occurring, so I haven’t lost a thing beyond the time it takes to boot the game back up.(perhaps this was a deliberate attempt by CDPR to limit the effect of all the bugs they couldn’t fix in the timeframe?)
Combat is fun when you get some decent weapons, hacking is very fun, traversing the MASSIVE city is fun (couple of upgrades later - do not neglect your cyberware!) , the side jobs are fun if a little standard (assassinate this person, steal that laptop of info).
The level up/perk/upgrade system can seem a little overwhelming and grindy especially in act one if you deliberately ignore the main missions, because there’s just so many perks and the upgrades are so expensive, and you’re presented with a level up screen with lots of words you don’t really know yet other than the standard ‘health +3’ or ‘melee damage + 10%’. Frankly though I think the game’s deliberately designed for you to spend act one with the safety wheels on, getting to grips with all the different aspects and immersing you in the world rather than being dumped to do your own thing from the get-go. And it’s all the better for it imo. Act one is a solid, varied and interesting story.
I imagine the endgame wont have much replayability like most other open world RPGs, beyond achievement hunting and so-on, but all in all so long as there are DLCs in the pipeline I can see myself playing this for a long time despite the obvious ‘issues’.

1 返信Uncanny_Valeにより編集済み: 12/17/2020 10:22:00 PMIf you ignore all the bugs, the poor performance/optimization, the shady business practice of CDPR hiding console performance before release and just look at the core game on its own merits I would say it’s a good game (or it will be when they fix it). But it’s not the masterpiece people were hoping for. It’s fun to play and the story is decent (though not as good as the Witcher). However there’s a few issues (deeper than bugs) that annoy me. The AI is absolutely atrocious. It’s like PS3 era AI. NPC’s just stand around doing nothing. Or if you attack them they just all instantly crouch down and do nothing. Then the cops instantly spawn right next to you and if you run away they won’t chase you. Enemy AI is also bad. They just stand there shooting at you. There’s no flanking, no attempt to duck into cover. It’s bad. The city is empty and lifeless. There’s hardly anyone on the streets and even less cars. This might be a performance issue on the consoles though I don’t know. Overall despite all its issues I am having a lot of fun with it. The minute to minute gameplay actually reminds me of Fallout (in a good way). Even the bugs (in a bad way).

The game has essentially met my expectations. Which is nice because I imagined the game would have its fair share of bugs, while at its core the combat and missions would still be fun. One thing that doesn't seem like such a big deal but helps the world feel more immersive, is just when Im in a certain area and a character calls me to ask for my help. Just fun to have an unexpected activity show up while wandering or on your way somewhere. Curious to see how the story unfolds though and if it can keep me intrigued throughout.

6 通の返信It's not bad. I wish Street Cred wasn't such a meaningless stat, though. The biggest thing keeping me on it is the nostalgia. I don't feel like the game is strong enough to hold my interest on its own. I hope Mike Pondsmith is truly happy with it.

1 返信I feel similar, except less bugs here (playing on ps4 so im surprised) and driving feels stiff

1 返信
traversing the MASSIVE city
The city really doesn’t feel all that big. It’s a bunch of same-y buildings full of some of the most lifeless NPCs ever. I’m not saying it’s a bad game, but the world building fell a little flat.
