Nobody really likes crucible though, its just a pinnacle quest.
Same reason nobody really cares trials was canceled.

I just got into PvP after hating it for six years. I spent all of IB practicing and raised my KD from negative to 1.7 so that I can hopefully get a good trials group when it rolls around. The introduction of stasis and mask of bakris gave me what I always felt destiny PvP was missing I also don't like to admit it but being that until recently Friction Fire was the only (and still the only 600RPM) automatic, kinetic weapon available - it pushed me to play in a shorter range, pay attention to my radar and plan my attacks ahead of time and avoid battles out of my range I genuinely enjoy pvp now and want more of it

Its good that you find enjoyment in crucible. I know some people do Most people really do not enjoy it though And devoting development time to it is really just a lost cause There is already plenty of pvp content between regular crucible, iron banner, gambit and trials I dont think they need to make more maps is all. Considering most players wouldnt even notice the difference.
-
Im guessing you didnt really play destiny 1 too much? Crucible has been on the decline for awhile now Of course there are others, and it's fine that some people enjoy it. But i do not think they need to make more maps And the fact that they didn't make more maps and haven't announced new maps lets me know that they realise developing pvp content is kind of pointless Pvp is Perfect just the way it is. Only thing i would suggest is permanent Mayhem

You quit playing the same time alot of people did Tons of people left when bungie put full resources into trials and pvp development The same happened at the start of D2 They have record numbers now because they broke from Activision and devoted their time to redesigning and expanding the PvE experience. Activision wanted Space Call of Duty Most Guardians don't want that experience. Seems like Bungie knows that.
-
I'm pretty sure Bungie knows not many people actually enjoy crucible. That's probably why they deleted the majority of pvp content and added absolutely nothing new to pvp. Much the same decision making process on which planets to remove. Take the least accessed content and delete it to make room for new content. Strange coincidence all of the new content is pve. Kind of seems like the data shows that the majority of players prefer pve content. Im not saying there is not a minority of guardians who like pvp though. What I am suggesting is to be happy with what you have. I would rather have a dungeon on every planet than getting more pvp maps. Pretty sure the majority would agree. PVE is the Lifeblood of Destiny and should be the sole focus of future content.

Crucible numbers have been steadily declining since Destiny 1 People come back for the dlc every time though. Even when they were putting massive resources into pvp, people just go to call of duty and other games for pvp. They tried to salvage it through esports and it failed It seems they now understand that chasing the pvp crowd is a waste of time and money and gives no return in dlc purchasing incentives or even player enjoyment levels.
-
The real question is, how many people stop playing after they get their pinnacle? Destiny tracker counts Gambit as crucible as well, so that statistic is alittle misleading But regardless, there is plenty of pvp content No reason for bungie to waste time on new maps when it is really not necessary and nobody would pay for it anyways.
-
I think that is how alot of players still feel I just dont think crucible really needs to be expanded. It already has alot of content and i dont see very many people spending money on new crucible maps. I mean, i think mayhem is super fun, and stuff like rocket race from halo would be amazing. But sadly people do not pay for that content and i dont think bungie should make those types of things instead of dungeons, strikes, raids, etc Who knows. Season 14 or 15 might introduce some new crucible stuff
-
Seems alot of pvp players are losing the plot. There is a reason bungie deleted almost all of the pvp content and added nothing new. They know there is a small number who play it, so they left some content. But the majority of players have no interest in seeing development time put into pvp when they could instead devote that time to dungeons, raids, strikes, etc. You obviously gravitate around other pvp players, because you yourself are a pvp player. But the majority of guardians exist outside of the pvp bubble. It is good they are finally realizing it is a waste of time and resources to try to expand these modes.
-
They removed all the stuff nobody plays They added new stuff that the majority of people actually do play. Your point just reaffirms my point They should remove content that nobody participates in to make room for new content, content similar to things people actually enjoy. Why did they remove 80% of pvp and did not add any new pvp maps? Because nobody really cares about pvp
-
They haven’t removed anything from pvp. They have been cycling maps in and out of rotation for a few seasons now. PvE on the other hand has had a huge amount of content cut. You’re creating your own narrative here.
-
Blimey, what a strawman. Firstly. Yes please, I’d love more PvE content but unfortunately raids don’t even get a 50% completion rate. By your logic, Bungie should stop making raids. Secondly, one should not preclude the other. This is a game of two halves. A few new PvP maps a year wouldn’t take much time away from the PvE content and for you to take pleasure in seeing those invested in crucible to not get a fair cut of new content is immature at best.
-
Thats the flaw in the reasoning This is not a game of 50/50 This is a PvE game with PvP elements Their development priorities clearly reflect that statement. There is a reason they didn't make any new pvp content
-
It’s not exactly half, no. It’s about 65:35-60:40. That’s a huge chunk of the population. You conveniently left out what I said about raids which is entirely unsurprising since it’s inconvenient to your narrative. Destiny has always featured PvP. It has Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris. Most - if not all, quests now feature a crucible option to complete the steps. It’s a game of two halves. Stop trying to pretend otherwise.
-
So it went from half, to 65/35 At least you display that you understand the real reason why they didnt add new pvp content It really isn't necessary Considering the new raid has the highest participation and completion rates in destiny history. I will say they are moving in the right direction The fact that there is no new pvp content shows that bungie knows there is no point in making pvp content New PvP maps are not necessary and devoting time to pvp will only degrade the pve experience. PvE is what people spend money on Sorry if you want more pvp stuff, but the majority of players do not care about pvp at all and I am fairly certain Bungie knows it
