IB - Slaying Dragons Quest - a waste?
I just finished the IB slaying dragons quest and just got an emblem and shaders, is this right or did I miss something?
Was there somewhere I could have checked what the reward was going to be, it certainly slowed my IB progress down especially the super stage given the number of mercied games that were occuring.
Any help on this would be appreciated as I do not want to waste my time next time.

5 通の返信I think it wasn't necessary to get the latest armor. I "did not" do the quest. I just did the 4 pinnacle bounties. I turned in a couple hundred tokens that I had left over from previous IB's, and I got an entire set of IB armor with a power level of 1410. So, I'm not exactly sure why people are saying you have to do the quest to get new armor. Am I missing something?

6 通の返信It's just a waste of time. I'm working on the Vigilance Wing masterwork and I don't do that much pvp. This "quest" just made sure that 20 or so games were spent doing stupidity like "scout rifle kills". Scout rifles are in such a bad place on the current rotation of maps that I went an entire game with one kill because even though I had the drop 90% of the time I still died first. On one occasion I threw down a barricade(when doing Titan obviously) with Citan ramparts and started headshotting at a control point. Another Titan literally ran over and through my barricade and meleed me to death as I was shooting him the entire time. Ridiculous shenanigans.

2 通の返信I think it gives the bow if you’ve not got it yet. Could be wrong but I saw a post saying Saladin says take this weapon so just assuming.

1 返信I think at one time the IB quest needed to be completed before cashing in tokens otherwise you wouldn’t get something. I cannot remember if it was the newly refreshed weapons or high stat roll armor. So it was in your best interest to complete it. But yeah if you got the emblem you’re done. Emblem, shader, armor and weapons. So depending if you got good armor or weapon rolls and you like the weapon archetypes, it may not have been pointless.

Best part is is that at the end of the quest it says something like “Saladin puts the weapon in your hands”. Then you finish the quest and get an emblem. Awesome. Did get ok gear while doing the quest although most of the rolls I got were in the low 50s.

I say it was a waste for one reason. If you'll look at the preview on the season pass tab, it will mention IB "where reprised ritual weapons await you". I'm pretty sure they said back before SK that ritual weapons are weapons of that element/ archetype with rolls exclusive to them (no other weapon can get those exact rolls). To say the Guiding Sight and Steady Hand are "ritual weapons" is no different than saying weapons like Gnawing Hunger or the Ikelos weapons are as well. The only things setting them apart from other weapons are the Iron perks, that doesn't make them ritual weapons. TLDR: Bungie has no idea what they're talking about and are falsely advertising free content. The only "Dragons" that came to mind are the Komodo and Clever Dragon. Almost no one likes Komodo and CD needs to be brought into D2 first before it can be reprised.

4 通の返信Nah, I don't think this particular system is a waste. I think the quest line was fine. The loot is fine. When the game progresses, and new weapons roll out. This system will work. This was actually good design. The old quests would take some people the entire season, or not at all. I'd change it so the - kill 20 with scout - would be 50 kills with any weapon.

Lull9により編集済み: 12/13/2020 9:22:33 AMThe quest is EZ, you barely had to do anything specific that would force you to change your natural playstyle (other than 20 scout and 15 hand cannon kills), you get guaranteed armor and weapon drops, it doesn't have to be [i]completed[/i] the first week, and you get bonus progress on your 2nd and 3rd characters. Chill.

And why is it that the gear you get from completing each part of the quest is under level?? I hit the 1250 hard cap a while ago and what I've gotten so far is 1247-1248 gear?. Not to mention the Stat rolls are low level (50-54 total) each.

1 返信I got full armour set twice at 1250 and the weapons but it did not indicate tied to quest rewards
