Thought we should discuss which games/franchises give you major eargasms. I often find music is overlooked in games, especially older ones given the constraints of the technology... but even some old games had absolutely stunning scores. In no particular order, here are my favourites...
1. [b]Final Fantasy[/b]
Whilst I havent played any of the newer titles, this franchise has come up with some incredible music, from Aeris' Theme to the Orchestral Majesty of One Winged Angel, through to some of the wistful lullabies in FFs VIII and IX, and the bittersweet, foreshadowing score of X.
2. [b]The Elder Scrolls[/b]
TES has been turning out majestic themes and music long before Skyrim. Morrowind and Oblivion certainly gained an extra dimension of epicness from Jeremy Soule's magnificent compositions
3. [b]Warframe[/b]
This may surprise a few folks... but go listen to "We All Lift Together" and "This Is What You Are" and get back to me. Sorely underrated game in many aspects, mainly because the best stuff is behind a tedious journey across the solar system. The music alone is worth it though 😁
4. [b]Destiny[/b]
Love it or hate it, the one constant in this franchise has been the incredible score. Salvatori has done a fine job following on from Marty O'Donnell, those were big shoes to fill and he should be applauded for filling them as well as he has.
5. [b]Pokemon[/b]
Again, love it or hate it, this franchise has spawned some disgustingly infectious music. I've certainly caught myself absent-mindedly whistling a few bits and pieces from the games I've played. Even Sword & Shield, which have split opinion pretty heavily... most folks seem to agree that the music was spot on.

Hmm that is a tough question let's think about it. Most video game review sites have a scale that goes from 1 (worst) to 10 (best). Here is an example 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. Other review sites prefer to go to a hundred. This is a bit more complicated but I'll do my best to explain it to your inferior brains. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30... So to answer your question (if that is what you call it) it is 10 or 100

Just found out about deep stone lullaby (D2), and it’s absolutely insane. Battlefield 4 has some good ones, (Warsaw theme and a Theme for Kjell). Doom 2016 and Eternal have some great songs. Payday 2 has quite a few bops (Razormind, The Gauntlet, Left in the Cold) Outer Wilds (Travelers) is outstanding. No Man’s Sky has some great tune, that totally mesh with the game. The Calamity Mod has some great ones. Children of the Omnissiah (Praise be unto him) is amazing. Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime has some great electro beats. And I don’t know if it counts, but Rocket League’s menu music is a great mix. [spoiler]Hecking Spitfires [/spoiler]

Seriously , Halo is still the gold standard. The scores for the first three games in particular are amazing. The whole Halo CE game was all round groundbreaking in term of music and gameplay , it was one of those eras where you had to be there to truly understand its brilliance. Destiny is right up there with the best in the current generation, in fact in terms of the current generation it's probably consistently the best.

Outer Wilds The composed music for this game is a masterpiece and the track over the teaser trailer was enough to make me buy it immediately on it’s own. This game’s soundtrack has reliably been in my writing mix ever since. Stunning. Life is Strange The score itself is top notch and the thing that keeps much of it from my writing playlists is the emotional connection I have between the music and the game, but the real triumph here is the seamless marriage of the lyrics and songs with the story of the game. The subtleties of this game continue to blow me away even when I replay it now. You would obviously expect the scored songs to aid the narrative, and they do it right from To All of You telling you the whole story of the game as you walk down the hall at its onset. But even the licensed tracks tell you so much if you just listen to them specifically when they play. FFVIII This will forever be one of my favorite OSTs. Orchestral versions of The Landing are spectacular. The battle music. Triple Triad theme. Eyes on Me. This whole OST gets stuck in my head. And I love every track on it.

1. Mega Man X. Best video game music hands down, no contest, landslide. Nostalgia goggles on or off, the composition is FLAWLESS 2.) Super Mario Galaxy. Shining even through the plethora of good mario music we have already, Galaxy takes the inspiring, dramatic and/or uplifting world scores so common to the franchise to a whole ‘nother level 3.) Bloodborne. I’m not even a huge fan of the game, but the intricate musicality of every boss fight and theme is too good to ignore.
