I believe the excuse given was that more is in the Battle Pass. If so, what happens after level 100? Cosmetics are a key motivation for a great many people in all kinds of games. It's the source of millions of dollars in Destiny.
As someone who routinely gets to level 200, level 400, level 500+ for Bright Dust it's going to definitely reduce playing after level 100. The bounties are too long for the meagre halved 100 reward.

I agree. I have gotten to rank 400+ in seasons past and so while I appreciste more early I end up netting far less and I’m the one who then is forced to pay for silver. If I want the ornaments. It’s not about getting in a more casual players pocket but those who do play often and getting them to pay more.

Worked out, if you do the 6 weeklies on 3 characters, so 18 per week, full season, you're now around 14'000 dust worse off. Can't remember exactly but it's roughly you earn 28k now, whereas you got 42k before.

True but I suspect one result might well be I'll play less. That leads to less engagement, less concern about EV ephemera and I won't be parting with any more Silver. Will have to see whether it feels worth it when I get to that point. It'll all come down to Bungie's books in the end.
