At first, I thought sunsetting was a great thing. It replaced old and overused gear with new stuff, keeping the game fresh. However, I did expect Bungie to replace the gear in Beyond Light. That didn't happen. So I figured, hey, The season will bring more. Week 2 came around, and a lot of gear hasn't been replaced. So, I thought that the raid was their chance. But, not really.
Don't get me wrong, I still love this game and the developers behind it, but I just thought that their would be a little.....more.

They sunsetted 75% of our weapons and replaced that with 5%. All of us that were against sunsetting knew this would happen... which is why we were / are strongly against it. Bungie isn't the same studio they once were. I said in multiple posts that they simply do not have the talent or the resources to sunset 400 weapons and give us "new" weapons to replace them. Expect alot of reprised and reskins in the next few seasons.

Bungie was never going to give us a 1 to 1 replacement. They "sunset" THREE YEARS worth of gear from the game. So any expectation that you had that Bungie was going to replace all of that with Beyond Light was not reasonable. The other thing to consider is that any gear that Bungie drops right now...is going to sunset in 12 months. So the smart play is for them to spread out the gear over the course of the year. So we set up this rolling system where a predictable number of weapons rotate out of the game every 3-4 months. Instead of these annual booms-and-busts. Where we get a ton of stuff at the start of the year.....next to nothing in the middle...and then another ton of stuff at the beginning of the next year.
but I just thought that their would be a little.....more.
I think Bungie understands this, which is why I think they accelerated their time table on reissuing cetain weapons. So they've added back Seraph weapons...and weighted the loot pool so that the newer stuff drops more often.

I didn’t even expect them to introduce a ton of new weapons but I thought they would’ve at least rotated in some year one weapons that didn’t get the random roll treatment. I would love to see, for example, some Hakke scout rifles return. They looked fantastic and there’s no designs like them in game currently.

This is exactly what happened to me! I was worried but only a little, I was expecting to have tons of new weapons and armors to choose from And now, I’m underwhelmed, I’m not in favor of it anymore, gimme my stuff back honestly.. At least royal chase exists, it’s become my new replacement for the Nameless Midnight

Riven’s No.1 Cookie Bakerにより編集済み: 11/25/2020 1:19:16 AMThere’s a full set of armor and weapons for Europa, season of the hunt, and DSC, what more could you want? Edit: and all the vendor gear too

It's noble to admit when you're wrong but it's a too little too late for that. Bungie won't rollback sunsetting at this point.
Don't get me wrong, I still love this game and the developers behind it, but I just thought that their would be a little.....more.
This statement tells me you're still drinking the koolaid. Bungie has a LONG history of literally cheating players (xp throttling, cutting content) in order to: - make more money unethically - decrease their workload while charging more for less content (unethical again). "Making content is hard." - taking things away (the stimulus) after getting you attached to it (conditioning). They've hired and worked with psychologists to create ways to make players addicted to the game (unethical again). Their intentions, based on their own actions, show that they're only using us and not serving us. There's a difference. It's not a fair exchange. You're losing far more than you're getting in return. If you still love them, you're still in denial and are bound to defend another scam that you will again regret later.

Why do you blindly love people that don’t know you exist? People who’s sole purpose is to get you to part with your money.

Imagine if Destiny had as much loot as Borderlands, that would be so awesome lol.

SolarCerberuSにより編集済み: 11/24/2020 9:28:49 PMBy season 15 it will feel better as there will be more viable choices. I hate the lack of loot atm myself and the sunsetting of armor made zero sense whatsoever. Sadly we have to put up with a few seasons of low loot before the sunsetting cycle catches up and starts revolving in and out properly. If there was a vendor refresh as in vanguard, crucible and gambit weapons sunsetting would have been easier to swallow. With the lack of new gear they should have left at least shadowkeep gear valid for season 12 even if the gear was mediocre for the most part.

Sun setting is no big deal. I have some great weapons collected and still chasing exotics and new weapons. The game feels quicker and smoother. Big fuss over nothing....as usual with some of the destiny community 🙄🤷♂️

Shocks me people were so hurt by sunsetting, but then again bungie dropped the ball. D2 has had no real disparity between guns with exception of the pinnacles like mountaintop and recluse because of frame system which means if you get 2 guns with same frame it’s pretty much same gun and has been since launch. About only variation they offer is newer models have new perk options. I miss d1 gun design where you would actually have to try something to determine if it’s good, but d2 makes it easy to just say “well those frames suck so it doesn’t matter what perks or stats say about this gun it’s junk”. Other than loot being fundamentally same thing due to frame system the worst mistake sunsetting made was not having currently droppable loot for each frame type. Bungie made this frame system and cost of doing that is that every content drop that they don’t refresh EVERY frame type is going to be deemed inferior because someone likes the frame they didn’t update. D1 didn’t have that issue nor did it have primaries and specials competing for same slot which means you may not have a good gun to pair that energy primary with because the legendary kinetic specials suck. In d1 we only had to be concerned that we couldn’t find a gun of that energy type that we liked, but in d2 it’s both energy type and frame type being limited by what’s droppable and what you have. They have less but similar number of guns released each content drop compared to d1, but new systems make that pool appear smaller due to poor design choices that restrict your choice of what you can pick in that pool. Ie how many good non-exotic kinetic specials do you see? That means pretty much everything that’s an energy primary is mostly a forced exotic kinetic special. This means some of the new frames they made this season are stuck in energy slot where you aren’t using them rather than kinetic slot where you probably would. This varies from person to person obviously, but this flaw ruins loot choice based on how much loot is released.
