Hey, community. We're currently investigating FPS issues on PC.
UPDATES
June 22, 2021
Last night, AMD released Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.6.1 that fixes some Radeon Graphics products that were experiencing lower than expected performance in Destiny 2.
AMD users may want to change their Settings > Preferred Software Version to Recommended + Optional for future updates.

June 3, 2021
In our TWaB blog post, we acknowledged that we made some major engine changes with the launch of Beyond Light - while working from home. Due to the pandemic, we haven't had access to our PC compatibility lab to do in-depth testing.
We've been making improvements with each release even though they aren't called out in patch notes, and we're working with our partners to help address these issues and are optimistic about the future.
January 29, 2021
We have looked over the data post 3.0.2 launch:
-- High-end users saw big improvements: we're about halfway back to pre-Beyond Light perf.
-- Mid-range systems didn't see much improvement.
-- Low-end and laptops didn't see much improvement.
We're continuing to investigate and look for solutions toward better performance.
January 19, 2021
We released Update 3.0.2 that optimized Lighting on PC GPUs to help increase performance.
-- Many folks have mentioned turning off the Shader Cache in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Does this help with performance?

December 14, 2020
We believe we found a few issues related to light probes that have led to GPU performance degradation. We're still investigating and hope to have a resolution in January.

Please use this thread to help us track down what is causing the issue by:
1. Posting when and where you are having FPS issues in the game
2. Quitting out of all open apps and browsers while playing to see if there are any improvements
3. Posting your PC specs with your DxDiag by following the instructions in the spoiler tag

• Press (Windows Key + R) to bring up the Run dialog box, enter this command “dxdiag” without quotation marks.
• Click on “Save all information”.
• Copy the text and use a text dump website (i.e. PasteBin.com) to paste the information. Please don't use Google Drive, Dropbox, or another similar service.
• Create a link and post it here with your PC specs

Additionally, below are some suggestions that may help FPS issues:
1. Verify the integrity of your game files in the Steam app.

Atomglowにより編集済み: 2/9/2021 10:41:15 PMI'm sad this hasn't been resolved. This way I can't play. Im really interested in who the high end users are. Because on my 6800XT I saw no improvement whatsoever. Sitting this season out I guess, hope this gets resolved someday. Right now I'm not expecting a fix any time soon.

Alrighty, I'm back in this thread to contribute some recent findings. The worst performing area right now, by far, is the Tangled Shore. With a 1080p target at either highest or lowest settings, Tangled Shore is hitting 40fps. Repro steps are pretty simple: Load into Thieves Landing and look to the right to get the worst of it. You can also coast around the Shore on your sparrow (I did a loop while checking some things out for another team), and observe that the transition areas tend to perform significantly better, similarly to lost sectors attached to applicable areas. Gambit map Deep Six is also a particularly bad offender, as is most of the Dreaming City. Eventide Ruins is also a great example. Lost sectors which are attached to applicable regions don't have any major performance issues observed. It's a huge bummer to see that performance issues persist even on hardware with this much grunt, but as I confirmed elsewhere deep in this thread, forcing the multi-threaded rendering on in CVARS helped, at the cost of shadows beginning to flicker. However, as of this most recent update, I'm now seeing flickering without the setting enabled, for example in the Drifter's ship prior to transmat into a Gambit match. All files verified, other areas are not an issue, etc. I wonder if migrating the engine on PC to a DX12 or Vulkan-based solution (or at least allowing the loading of signed and signature checked DXVK DLLs) would aid performance. It seems likely to me based on experience with other DX11 titles. Hopefully this is able to give you something to go on. Feel free to get in touch. Hardware in use: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT (AMD Reference Model) 32GB RAM Bungie developers may request my full DXDiag privately as it contains confidential driver information. I also have performance logs from relevant sections and GPU tracing available at my disposal.

Yesterday everything was fine. Today I go into the game and see strong fps drops when the steam shows that I have exactly 60 fps and everything is fine. FPS drops both on maps in the crucible and in the open world at any location. Wtf could have happened to the game in 1 day??
-
Just hopped into a comp game and wanted to try using nova warp, so apart from the shitty fps everything was fine but once I got my super and popped it my game froze for 2 full seconds and of course I died and we lost. I was also getting huge stutters whenever anything stasis was happening which was almost constant. F I X T H E G A M E

Thanks Bungie, you actually fixed the microstuttering/stuttering that had been happening since Beyond Light was released. Since Season 13 update, that came out on 9th Feb 2021, the game is now running buttery smooth, even when I run the game on my 144hz Gsync monitor. Previously the game would hitch randomly, microstutter, and Gsync failed to smooth it out. Whatever you did to address the issue, thanks so much! Please keep it this way. https://pastebin.com/yA9atHyj

Just checked to see if today's update fixed the frame rate issues on my 6900XT. Very sad to say it did not. This is my favorite game and it breaks my heart but I guess I'll be sitting this season out. I can't justify buying a season pass if playing just makes me upset. I don't need that kind of energy in my life. I hope bungie can get it sorted out at some point and I'll keep myself posted on updates. Best of luck to you guys.

Melanchofeliaにより編集済み: 2/7/2021 2:50:01 PMI contacted a AMD tech support via feedback form, provided a screenshots from the game with low GPU utilization on them using HWiNFO64, AMD promised to sort it out. Maybe the more RX 5000/6000 users contact them, the faster they will release a new drivers, because waiting for a solution from Bungie is pointless. A feedback form through which you can contact AMD at this link: AMD Online Service Request

I have uninstalled the game, found every file and deleted it, uninstalled my GPU drivers with the AMD and DDU software. I have done just about everything, the settings in the game have no impact on my frames, and on-top of that the game is really blurry, like it's not picking up on my resolution. I have made sure that the render is at 100% and nothing I have done has made a difference. The game was so nice and crisp but now looks blurry and jagged.
-
Whatever they did in todays update it seems to have stopped the stutters/framepacing issues. 9900k/3080.

Ive been having severe performance issues since the release of beyond light. performance has not improved with subsequent updates. performance is worst in the Tangled Shore, with performance drops in most areas excpet Nessus and the Moon (if i remember correctly its been a while since i specifically checked). heres my system spec from dxdiag https://pastebin.com/tDpwFH0c

hey bungie you need to do something about this ,cant complete any hunts on the tangled shore,as it now crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME,an yeah ive done all the tricks shader cache etc and nothing, first time in years this has happend fix it!

Seasmhachにより編集済み: 2/17/2021 4:45:38 PMThis is still an issue even after the update saying it fixed it. The worst area for this issue is The Tangled Shore. The only thing I have found that fixes the issue is changing the "<cvar name="force_enable_multi_threaded_render_submit" value="0" ></textarea>" value from 0 to 1 but it causes crazy flickering with shadows/lighting. Here is my pastebin. https://pastebin.com/gxAvp9rJ Edit : Reverting back to the 20.4.2 drivers for AMD GPU's fixes the performance loss as another temporary fix.

Still broken after today's patch/update. 3700x/6800xt. 45ish fps still on thieves' landing spawn.
