Its confirmed there's not going to be any Vendor Refresh, and we know this means as speculated many weapons will be outright re-issued.
I don't see innovation being used to to make Raid loot or Trials loot unique in the future. I have heard about the adepts coming into the game for Trials, but a simple stat boost mod doesn't really make it all that unique does it?
So basically the question is, if we never see Forsaken/TheTakenKing style content expansions with Vendor Refreshes, Story Mode, Raids, Strikes, and Crucible maps ever again opposed to the current seasonal model Bungie has been dishing out, will that be enough for you to stay interested in Destiny?

I’m a mix of both. I miss the old model, but also the seasonal content usually satisfies me. I mean, sometimes the events that happen are boring, *Cough* the almighty taking an hour to blow up *Cough* but honestly I’ve enjoyed a lot of the loot drops, some of the season pass items, and I’m hopeful BL will continue to be enjoyable.

Its really sad to follow all this. Every new season and every big expansion the story and lore of this game evolve so much (and in such good ways!) and yet I find myself disapointed with every new season and every second TWAB. One week we learn about some incredible new game mechanic, only to learn the next week that something else in the game that was either working or ok has just gotten worse. For every good step D2 takes forward, it jumps back three bad steps. Hach Ive had enough Ill try to get my Beyond Light version refunded.

5 通の返信For me, I’ve seen the LFG community erode slowly over time, and it’s not just a player problem. What makes them act so hostile? Making the game appear more difficult than it should be. When you’re dealing with the usual clan stuff, LFG is always there. I dealt with Year 3 at different intervals but I can say I’ve seen the worst interactions on D2. It’s not healthy for me to go on like that. Unnecessary stress from the irrational just isn’t worth it to me anymore, not for a triumph or title

17 通の返信You don’t understand what their business model actually is. What they are doing is actually very common among MMOs, and actually is very consumer-friendly in that it makes the game more widely available. But all people can see are the bright shinies in the store, and never stop to think what that money pays for...and how much more most of you would have to spend to play this game if that store went away.

1 返信Bungie doesn't really care about what gamers feel or think about their business model. They made Destiny 2 free with paid dlc, after having the og players pay the original price. Bungie has never respected our time and never will.

2 通の返信I think Destiny has run its course with both Bungie and its fans. I have been playing since the beta and I will be dead honest, I am tired of having great expectations for the game and constantly being disappointed. Destiny 1 ended in a great spot and then we got Destiny 2 that has never come close to reaching the same peak of player interest. But there was always hope. My friends are like myself and have just given up at this point. 6 clans with full rosters have been silent most of the past 2 seasons and out of 300 players, only about 10 have logged on once in the past couple of months. People just don't have faith in Bungie to make a good game at this point and I am sorry to say it but the biggest problem they have had is that they never did. It was all just a slap it up against the wall and lets see what sticks plan. It shows in their work. I see beyond light as a last ditch money grab by Bungie before they wind down the entire game to shelve it for a while and come back later with a revamped version a way long time down the road.

What better way to reach money from individuals, vault content and make them pay later for access to it again, you see how that works, pay for it once when we bought the game (unless you started FTP) pay for the seasons, pay for the expansions, the the expansions you pay for get vaulted, released at a later date which you will of course have to pay again to access once more, how is it that so few of you have in unraveled this and how is it that those of you that have are okay with it or silent about it? Nothing comes from nothing and nothing is what nothing shall always be, nothing!

2 通の返信Yes. When I no longer have fun playing I'll stop. For now though I'm having more fun with D2 than I've ever had before.

Lies upon lies upon lies starting with the pre order sales of destiny 2 right up to our current time line, it's pretty obvious Bungie is about profit it has no real need of except greed over the average fan, thus Destiny 1 was a very impressive well made game, Destiny 2 however is a pile of shit thus far and the only perfected flawless thing in it seems to be the eververse store, if they spent as much time on actual connect as they do figuring out ways to remove content and charge you for it later as well as the dumb shit in the eververse this game might actually be good, but they may not and I'm afraid the game will not either, but hey I have faith, I'm giving them this last expansion to prove me wrong and if they fail, well it happens, lots of devolpers not making games anymore cause their reputation never recovered!

4 通の返信Yosemite Samにより編集済み: 10/31/2020 4:26:14 PMEveryone has their opinion about the changes. (What I don't like is how some try to force their opinion on others) and if you don't agree with them, you are the bad guy. I only speak for myself and in no way anyone speaks for me. I'll tell you what I miss and it's more than what this company has shown these last couple of years. I miss people like Staten that had heart, that had that passion to want to create a game for the player base as games should be created period. He had a vision of where he wanted the game to go that was destroyed for personal reasons that are unknown. When I read that Bungie said a couple of years back that "the shop is how they plan on making their money"? I knew this game was going to change for the worst and leaving Activision did not improve anything they did as some believed in their heart that this company was going to start creating a quality type of game again. Quality content is what this game is actually missing, what I mean is content that keeps players engaged, replayable content and it doesn't have to be a lot of content either because that has already been proven years ago on how some games have more value than others that don't have a lot of content. It's how a game is structured that makes a world of difference when it comes to players spending a lot of time or not. Incentive is a huge thing a game needs and right now this game Imo barely has any. Edit: This bothers me knowing this is how some of the people working for this company think.
The other project is part of the issue but not the main issue. What I'm about to say is mind-boggling and I will never forget this. When D2 base game released Bungie removed random rolls, turned the game into a cosmetic game literally handing everything out like candy, and making the public event more rewarding than strike. They also added the 2 primary slots that we were slowly pecking away at bosses and they called that a "creating a challenge". The mind-boggling part? They actually believed to their bone that this was what the player base wanted and believed that was a good thing going from what D1 offered to that. That is what type of people are running this company. Actually, that is scary...
3 通の返信DuplexGorilla53により編集済み: 11/1/2020 3:24:23 AMWe really shouldn't compare past and present. Activision had another studio building for Destiny and another one on top of that helping. It got bigger and bigger.....then it instantly got small. That is where we are at. What we see next month is about all we can count on from here on out I would guess. The former seasonal was just trash. It really was throw away content. Now they are going to spoon feed back D1 as the seasonal content to even make that take less effort and I hope they take it a completely different direction because If I have to pick up another ball it isn't going to go well.

Heydrithにより編集済み: 11/1/2020 4:41:20 PMFor me Destiny 2 turned in to the mindless shooter like Serious Sam or something like that. But I like brain dead shooting at aliens so after work, pew pew pew on the Moon event or other easy activity. Hardest stuff than lost sector is boring and pointless to me.

The answer is simple. Don't buy Beyond Light. If enough players would do this it would definitely send a message to Bungie. It's insane that some players are just fine grinding the same re-issued weapons and armor. It shouldn't be this way. It's their job to give us the consumer proper content that will make us spend our hard earned money. Content that's properly distributed within the game itself and not straight in to Eververse!

At this point I don’t really feel like it matters what we want. It’s been feeling more like what they want. And that’s ok, but....should customers opinion matter? I’ll probably get banned again because I’ve always been outspoken about the eververse store (ikr, ironic) but yes. Way too much time goes into it. Reduce the prices, stop this fomo bullshit, put everything up for sale, put more time into make sexy loot for playing the gd game. Bungie needs to find that balance, everywhere. I liked the “expansion will be read when it’s done and not before” approach in d1. But d2 is lacking....we had one....good expansion imo....one. And for the most part d2 feels like it’s trying to be destiny, but isn’t truly destiny. It’s a shell of itself. This is not me saying I hate the game, I just don’t like the direction it’s taking and won’t play until bungie finds themselves.

16 通の返信I have put more time into ESO then any other video game in my life (jedi academy not included) and i have spent literally thousands of dollars in the Crown Store(cash shop) because there is so much in the game that its easy to justify my wizards tower and sweet ass mounts. Destiny however is an entirely different beast, its hard to justify ornament purchases when its the only way to not look like hot garbage, weapon skins are the same, why buy a ship, seriously, why? Even when they (apparently) bring transmog i have zero faith that it wont be semi paywalled. Bungie seem be to stuck in this sort of QoL changes should be monetised mindset and it's pretty gross, it's even more gross when the player base just regurgitate corporate talking points like good little sheep, encouraging bungies behaviour. I think bungie begged to be on game pass because there playerbass was about to be demolished if this "expansion" wasn't "free" to 10's of millions of players.

6 通の返信Making a bias poll wont show anything. Eververse will stay in the game anyway, whether we like it or not. Ps. I can’t imagine a modern online game without buying cosmetics. No one is forcing you to spend real money in the first place.

15 通の返信people wanted the game free to play. I mean this is how free to play games survive. They sell lots of cosmetic stuff. I've never bought any of it personally. but this is what free to play games do.

14 通の返信Kuramaにより編集済み: 11/1/2020 9:40:32 AMWhy is cool about the seasonal content is there’s always something to do. The time in taken king after a couple months, so like from January to April was largely void of anything to do once the core content had been completed. And again on the summer to rise of iron in September. Long dry periods. Even if a season isn’t great now, there’s still activities to do, Power levels to gain for endgame, and mods to grab each season. Also weapons either brought back and improved, or new uniques. Eververse? I don’t care. I might buy one thing per season if I like it, maybe something from an event, probably have enough bright dust and if I don’t, 10 dollars silver. Everything else I just don’t care about in the shop.
